MODESTY

Narrated by Abu Huraira
Transmitted by Sahih Bukhari

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Faith (Belief) consists of more than sixty branches (i.e. parts). And Haya (Modesty) is a part of faith."

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Modesty and inability to speak are two branches of faith, but obscenity and eloquence are two branches of hypocrisy."

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), passed by a man who was scolding his brother about modesty. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "Leave him. Modesty is part of iman."

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Indecency disfigures everything and modesty (Haya') enhances the charm of everything."
