LAST EDITED ON 07-02-02 AT 05:38 PM (GMT)[p]I seek refuge in Allah against the cursed Shaitan,
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Praise be to Allah, we praise Him, we seek Help, we seek His forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Allah from the evils of ourselves and our evil actions. Whosoever Allah guides, there is none to mislead, and whosoever He allows to stray, there is none to guide. And I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah the One, who Has no partner, and that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.
Dear Muslims ! -We find ourselves in a time, where sticking on your religion is just like sticking on a hot charcoal, just like the Prophet of Allah(pbuh) had predicted.
Those who try to hold themselves to the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet in this time, in this society, will be tested and pelt from all sides.
People around us who make comments or act strange, or worser than that. This is why some of us start shaming for their religion, or don't stand up in public that they're a muslim. Our Imaan (faith in our hearts) is being attacked by books, internet, television, and by people around us at school, work or on street. Time and time again we find ourselves in situations wherein we as muslims should not fall into, time and time agian our eyes see things and our ears hear things, through which our imaan is being weakened each hour of the day. The poison, that comes daily to us, do his job and will go on as long as some of us will have no any faith anymore and are fallen into a situation where they follow their own lusts or take fallacies as their god. They submit to them, just like they had to submit to Allah, and they spend money and time for it, which they had to spend on the Way of Allah. And some of us say that they believe, but they are with their heart and mind not so sure about this, because the high bombardments whom their imaan had to endure with.
Dear brothers and sisters! Know that a man will finally expire when he's bitten by a snake, unless he takes an antidote. Why don't we take an antidote then against the dangerous poison which has weakened our hearts? -We can do this by studying the Quran and the Sunnah deeply and through practising this knowledge further in our life.
Allah has sent guidance in His major love and mildness to the humanity who He had created, in the shape of various Prophets and Messengers (Allah's Blessings and Peace be upon them), and in the shape of books who some of them had received from Allah.
He is the One Who is All-Knowing, and everyone who turns away from Him, looks for the ignorance.
He is the One Who gives Guidance, and everyone who turns away from Him, looks for the mistake.
He is the Source of Rest and Peace, and everyone who turns away from Him will not know what rest and peace is.
Allah is the One Who has ever claimed that He's the Creator of this entire universe, and I as a muslim believe in this because my fitra, my understanding, my religion and my sense organs tell me this.
What do I mean with "fitra" ? To understand this we may look to Surah Al-A'raaf, wherein Allah says:
"When thy Lord drew forth from the Children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants, and made them testify concerning themselves, (saying): "Am I not your Lord (who cherishes and sustains you)?"- They said: "Yea! We do testify!" (This), lest ye should say on the Day of Judgment: "Of this we were never mindful"
Allah, Praised and Exalted is He, tells us here about an occurence which took place on the creation of our father Adam(as). No, we don't believe that we are descended from apes, and I will return to this point later, insha-Allah.
Our Lord and Creator had brought all of us back to life on that day, with understanding and tongue to talk, and asked us: "Am I not your Lord? " We all (each man), Muslim or kafir, said upon this: "Yea! We do testify (that you are our Lord)". He did this, so that we shall have no excuse on the Day of Resurrection to say: "We didn't know that You existed".
O Muslim ! You will be questioned about the oath you have taken before you were born ! You have testified that Allah is your Lord, but now you're walking on earth as if you don't know Allah ! This consciousness about God, this realization, deep in our hearts and our understanding, which tell us that Allah exists, this is what I just meant with the word "fitra". Each human, on every place on earth, possesses this fitra, and therefore you see why everyone knows something about religion and has a realization of god; even the indians who live deeply in the jungle of the Amazone.
And also the Prophet Mohammed(pbuh) has said in a hadith, delivered by Bukhari and Moslim: "No child is born but has the Islamic Faith, but its parents turn it into a Jew, Christian or a fireworshipper".
This fitra tells me thus, together with my understanding, my sense-organs and my religion, to believe in the existence of Allah. This faith is achieved through using my common sense, just like the Islam ask us, and not through blind faith. Let us now think about some ayat of the Qur'an, which contain arguments for faith and against disbelieve, so that the faith of the unbeliever will fall like a brick and the the faith of the believer will raise up like a rocket. This is the way to strenghten our Imaan in this critic situation.
To those who ran away from the Way of Allah, Allah asks a question. Allah doesn't ask a question because He doesn't know the answer, but He asks question to us to think about it and to repeat those questions to ourselves. The question is as follow:
"O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, el-Keriem ? Who created thee, then fashioned, then proportioned thee? Into whatsoever form He will, He casteth thee"..
Behold the mildness within His request, and behold the perfect choise of words ! Allah begins with "O man...", through by each man, who hear these words, will call attention to the words which will follow up next, unless he doesn't consider himself as a man. If the words were: "O Arab!" then the Turk wouldn't listen and when it was: "O muslim!" then the Christian, the Hindu, the Jew or the atheist wouldn't listen.
"What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, el-Keriem ?"
By placing the name el-Keriem at the end of this question, the question becomes very mild with a deep meaning, on which a human heart should shake.
El-Keriem is the One who granted you everything, even yet we didn't ask for it. He gave you a roof above your head, and water that descends free from the air to clean up yourself, to drink and to irrigate vegatation. He gave you your sense, and your eyes and ears, which you couldn't pay back with all your good deeds in your whole life ! In short: He granted you so much, and then you walk away from Him and you don't even say: "Thank you yaa Rabbi !".
Let us think about a person, who has been carried with sore and trouble by his mother for 9 months long, and then raised up with the incredible love whom mothers have for their children. When he was sick, then his mother suffered the same and she provided him. When he came home lately, then his mother was waiting for him with worry. When he was hungry, his mother cooked dinner for him. Next this person grows up, and ignores without a reason his mother, who granted so much love and attention to him. He doesn't say "Thank you very much", and he doesn't even show any sign of thanks in his deeds. He ignores her and walks away. Tell me: What would you think about such a person? -Shouldn't we call him very rude and ungrateful ?
But how worse is it then, when a person does this against His Lord, who created him in the best form, and created his mother, and implanted maternal love in her heart, and granted shelter and food to them, and eyes and sense ?!
"O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, el-Keriem ?
This aya alone should be enough yet for you to ask forgiveness to Allah and to return to His Path, but how forgetful and ungrateful is man !
The person who opens his eyes, his mind and his heart for the signs of Allah, will have no any doubt about His existence for a moment, and will see thousands of signs around him, where the most people walk past every day. Let us go deeper into these signs. How many times doesn't a person ask you: "Why do you believe in Allah, while you cannot see Him ?".
We could ask this person: "Do you have understanding and intelligence ?". Of course he will reply with "yes". Than we can ask him: "Is understanding something you can grab or see? -Can you buy understanding in bags in the stores ?". No of course not.
But through the inventions which man make with their understanding, we do see that understanding exists.
They have invented: satelites, telephones, computers and medicine and through the inventions you can see that understanding exists. The same story applies to Allah: on His creation, which is much complicated than what kind of computer or camera, you can see that there is a Creator. And often are these signs so common and close, that we overlook them. So asks Allah us in the Qur'an:
"And in the earth are portents for those whose faith is sure. And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see ?
Those who are steadfast in their faith, and thus not blow away with the first problem in their life, will see a lot of signs around them in the world. But even closer: in yourselves !
Your own bodies are all yet a sign of Allah ! Don't even look to the moon or the sun, but look for once into the mirror and think about it. Your eyes are two little balls of flesh, but even the best camera-manufacturer couldn't imitate them. Think once about the brains and intelligence, about the nervous system, or about the womb and how a child develops! Subhan-allaah !
Can ye then not see ?
Could it be possible that such a complicated body may arise accidently from nothing ? How dull is this statement, while we do know that we are even not able to create a sandgrain from nothing; even man has such modern machines. In Sura at-Tur(ayat 35-36) Allah asks to man:
"Or were they created out of naught? -Or are they the creators? -Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing !"
Behold which medicines are reached in our hearts by Allah ! Even by thinking only about the words of Allah hearts of man will settle down.
But as much as you show signs to some one, they refuse to believe and try to find all sorts of explanations and way outs for disbelieving. These are the people who believe that everything has arised by accident, and that we spring from apes.
Let me say to these people: "You don't built a house then further not to live in, and you don't sow grane so you don't reap it further and you don't ask someone to make a expansive suit that further you don't put on, and you don't live and you don't die to rot away in your grave...".
If this was the case, then whole of this existence had no sense, and all this would be created for a dull reason.
Like Allah says, in Sura Ali-'Imraan, aya 190-191:
Most surely in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day there are signs for men who understand. Those who remember Allah standing and sitting and lying on their sides and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth: Our Lord! Thou hast not created this in vain! Glory be to Thee; save us then from the chastisement of the fire".
Allah has not created this all for a dull reason, on further to leave everything to his fate.
Those who think about the creation with all their sense, they must admit that evolutionism is a ridiculous idea, which says that man springs from apes. Even the biologists who say with their tongues to believe herein, don't agree among themselves how this could happen precisely, and their hearts are full with doubt. The famous biolog Edward Conklin has ever said, after he had studied evolutionism for years: "The probability that life has arised by chance, is comparable with the probability that the unabridged dictionary springs from an explosion in a printing-office".
The science changes his opinion each day: what today is a fact, gets tomorrow rejected and laughn. How can someone then find rest if he has taken the science as his god besides Allah ?
The word of Allah doesn't change and it is the strongest fundament to build on. The Qur'an and the Sunnah give a lot of more arguments to think deeper, but since it is the Sunnah of the Prophet(pbuh) to make a khotbah not to long I will keep that for another khotbah, insha-Allah. In short I would like to tell you what the four points are of believing in Allah:
[li] The first point is "Believe in the existence of Allah".
[li] Believe in the "Rububiyya"; this means that you believe that there is only 1 Lord for this entire universe; the Only Creator, the Only Protector, the Only Who grants Provision, etc.
[li] The faith in the "Ububiyya"; this means that nothing or no-one has the right to be worshipped besides Allah. That you only sacrifice in the name of Allah, that you only direct you du'a to Allah, that you only swear by Allah, etc.
[li] The last point of believing in Allah is the faith in Allah's Names and Qualities, which are named in the Qur'an and in the Sunnah, such as "Ar-Rahmaan", "Ar-Rahim", etc.
We should thus also study and know the Names and the Qualities to believe sincerely in Allah.
May Allah grant our more knowledge about the islam, and let us be among those with a deep faith.
May Allah support our brothers, the Mudjahiddin in Palestina, Tjetsjenia, Kashmir, the Philipins and all over the other places in the world !
Our Lord, we made wrong to ourselves, and if You don't forgive us and don't have mercy on us, than we will belong with the losers !
And Allah's blessings and peace be upon with our Prophet Mohammed, and with his family and sahaba.
Was-salaam aleikum wa rahmatullah.
