Dear readers.
Assalamu aleikum.
It is a pleasure to be in Islamic Web Conference. By the Grace of Allah I shall try my best to cooperate with everyone, who seeks the will of Allah. If anyone has any question regarding the Quran and hadisse is welcome. Let us take the full advantage of the Holy month of Ramadan. Let us try our best to gain the benefits of the Ramadan as Prophet Muhammad S.A.W.did.
May Allah accept us. (Amin)

Assalamu alikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu !
First of all, i am really thankful to Shaykh Munir and the administration to let a scholar have a forum. Also, i am thankful to Shaykh Munir for taking some time out for us. Jazaak Allah Khair Shaykh Munir and Administration.
Secondly, i am quite confused with the topic that is going on nowadays, about bidah.
I would like to ask Shaykh Munir to please help us out in this.
Is there bidah hasnah in Islam?
Or is there no such thing in Islam?
Fee Aman Allah !
Dear Brother in Islam.
Assalamu Aleikum.
Literally bidŽa means inovation. Some scholars say that it is haram and not permissible, others gave more reasonable answer. In Islam what is MUHKAMAT, (obligation), no one can change, the two racah of fajr would remain two till Quiyamah, because it is considered Muhakamat. The Prophet Muhammad S.A.W. said that when you travel reading the following dua: Subhanal lazhi....til the end, but we know the transport used by him is different from ours, but the dua is there, the essence is not changed. So we do travel, and read the same dua recomended by the Prophet, is it BidŽa? surely is not. When an act is not changing the essence, and it benefits the community, it is applicable, because it is not obligatory, and if we do, we are rewarded. The tarawi prayers of twenty racakts, was introduced by Sayyidina Umar R.T.A. It is considered to be the BidŽa Hassanah. The second Azan of Jumma, and in some countries and cities are more than two azans, at the time of the Prophet it was only one.

Jazaak Allah Khair for your reply. Now, it is confirmed that there is such a thing as bidah hasnah in Islam. Sir, now i would like to ask you if celebrating the Prophet (SAAW)'s birthday is a bidah hasnah. I mean, not that we listen to songs or music, but praying more or more recitation of the Quraan or learning more about Islam. Is this permissible sir?

Assalamu Alaikum.
Those Ulama who permit the celebration of the birthday of the Prophet s.a.w., recommend not to mix it with unpermissible things. Giving lectures in the mosques, or any other place, in this day, is permitted. There is an Hadith where it is mentioned that the fasting of the Prophet on Mondays, the Prophet said it was the day of the week in which he was born.
Wassalam,
Munir
