Invader's convoy attacked in Vedeno District
As Chief of Press Service of Military Committee (part of the State
Defense Committee «Majlis al-Shura») Seif Islam reported, on Sunday
afternoon between the villages of Zhanni-Vedeno and Vedeno Chechen
units attacked a convoy of Russian invaders. According to the
Military Committee's Press Service, two units of BTR armored vehicles
were destroyed and up to 10 aggressors were killed on the spot in the
attack. During the crossfire with the enemy one Mujahid died and six
Chechen fighters were lightly wounded. After the combat took place,
Russian aircraft was bombing the woodland and the mountain road until
dusk.
Chechen side also reported about several blasts of Russian military
vehicles where the invaders were also eliminated. The blasts of
armored vehicles and equipment were carried out in the village of
Chiri-Yurt, as well as on the outskirts of Shali, in Argun, Dzhokhar,
Gudermes and in Shelkovo District of the country. It has been
reported that in all of the above cases there were heavy casualties
incurred by the enemy.
The invaders command writes off its dead
Bodies of eight Russian border guards were discovered on the Georgian
border Saturday. As Russian sources reported, two servicemen from
that unit are still missing. According to the command of Russian
invaders, Friday night border unit «Zasada» (Ambush) took over its
border guard duties, however there was no radio contact established
with that unit at a certain time.
In addition to that, the headquarters of Border Troops does not rule
out the possibility that the unit was ambushed by the Mujahideen. The
fact, that the border guards did not have time to use the radio to
contact the frontier post, can serve as the evidence. Besides that,
Russian sources are claiming that there is a high probability that
the Mujahideen have transported two missing border guards to Georgia.
While commenting on this report during the interview to Kavkaz
Center, Chief of Military Committee's Press Service Seif Islam
assumed that they were most likely talking about the soldiers who got
killed in the recent combats in Itum-Kala and Shatoi Districts of the
country, where several dozens of the invaders were eliminated.
According to the Press Service Chief, the invaders' command is
writing off the casualties of those combats by making up stories
about discovered bodies or missing border guards.
