Boycotts against Israel ARE successful and taking effect!
MPAC one of the only Muslim organisations in the UK that has forcefully taken the fight on and pushed the Boycott of Israel in the UK.....
and heres the proof we were right !
Muslim groups slammed MPAC as wasting time when they first started the boycotts now it seems MPAC was right all along
In today's Aug. 6, 2002, San Francisco Chronicle on the front page
is an article entitled "Israelis feel boycott's sting" and subtitled
"Creeping sense of isolation as culture, economy take hits"
The article then goes on to report the latest boycott action by
Norway against an Israeli University.
And "Many Israelis fear that their country is fast becoming an
international pariah after a rash of cancellations by foreign
artists and sports figures, as well as calls within international academic
and business circles for a boycott of Israel-- either for safety
reasons or to protest the Ariel Sharon government's handling of the
Palestinians."
The high cost of fighting the intifada is also mentioned, at about
$1000 per Israeli this year (guess who's paying for this---- the good
ole American tax-payers---against their will, I might add!)
Also: "Se! nior Israeli economist Yoram Gabai , noting that resource-poor
Israel is almost totally dependent on selling goods to the outside
world, said, "Isolation means economic collapse, not just a decline
in standard of living. Faster than expected we will find ourselves in
the time warp of (white-dominated) Rhodesia in the 1970s : enforced
isolation from without and an isolationism from within. The
enormous price of isolation will drag us into withdrawing from the Occupied
Territories, within the context of a peace treaty or without one as
a unilateral act."
Not surprisingly, there has been a HUGE drop in tourism as well, down by
about 80%. A statement made by Steven Rose, a Jewish academic from Britain's
Open University says " The Israeli government appears impervious to
moral appeals from world leaders. However, there are ways of exerting
pressure from without." ...! like boycotts. Britain's largest lecturer's
union urge univer sites to consider severing academic ties with Israel to
protest its "illegal and barbaric" incursions into Palestinian areas.
Many influential Swedes and Norwegians (personalities and organizations)
are calling for boycotts against Israel as well. And of course, the Arab world is too.
