Bismillah
Assalamualaykum,

Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar!

Islamic Conquests Astonish Orientalists

One of the questions that puzzled Western orientalists and historians is :
How could the Muslims establish a state that composed three fourths of the
known world then in a period of
time that did not exceed one century!?. Complicating this matter further for
them is the answer which they inherited from their predecessors and studied.
This answer contradicts with
reality and nature of things. For example they say that Islam compelled
people to believe in it by the force of the sword. Such matter is proven
wrong by the rules of Islam, historical
events and the facts of life. Within the above framework, serious and honest
historians while a few, presented several remarks, some of which are:

1. The average horse needs forty litres of water daily. How could a person
living in a desert climate ensure such an amount every day? Assuming there
was an army of 1,000 horsemen
only, that army would need 40,000 litres of water daily! If that army was to
march from Medina to Alexandria, for example, it would be moving water wells
throughout the way as well as
tremendous amounts of food. Assumming that army secured all of the above, it
should have reached its destination exhausted, with no will to fight. And
the castles of Alexandria should
have been able to withstand such an army. As a matter of fact, natives of
that land could have demolished such an army with easiness. Why didnt aby of
the above happen?

2. How could Mecca and Medina furnish enough support during the days of
conquests when thier combined resources were negligible in contrast with the
Roman and Persian empires'
resources then?

3. How were the Muslims able to cross the sea to Spain? What number were
they? What military equipment did they have, knowing that the horses cannot
stand the sea sickness?
Assuming that the army was able to cross the sea how could it hold fast and
achieve victory in those unknown far and strange lands?

The Spanish historian (Aghisio Aulaghi) writes in his book, 'The Islamic
Revolution in the West;' Pershalona 1974, 'In order to reach Iberia, the
Arabs had to cross the narrow passage
which separates Africa from Europe. The camel is the ship of the desert not
of the sea, and the Arabs did not have any ships. Even if the Arabs had
boats, they had to find good sailors,
especially that the narrow passage of Gibralter which connects the calm
Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic forms a way to strong currents, that go
in both directions. It is a very
dangerous passage and known to be the ships graveyard

According to "A Collectiom of news", a person called Aulaban lent four boats
to the Arabs. Each of fift men maximum carrying capacity, in addition to the
sailors. Tariq would have needed in this case 35 trips to cross his army
over. i.e around
70 days. This is due to the fact that such boats would require a full day to
cross such a distance. And if we include the bad weathered weeks where no
trips could take place, the time could reach up to three months. Such could
not take place
unless the arrivals escaped a massacre in order to meet the late comes.'

The Spanish historian continues saying, 'The author of "A Collection of
News" states that Musa bin Nusair dyed his beard red when he was about to
conquer the city of Mardah which
was surrounded by a wall that no human could ever build like. When he met
with the negotiators in the second time, they saw his red beard, one of the
negotiators yelled, 'He must be
a canibal, he is not the person we saw the first time.' Right before the
third meeting he dyed his beard black. When the negotiators saw him they
told thier people that you are fighting
a people who change thier appearance as they wish. Thier king who was an old
person is now a young man. Go and give into him.'

He continued saying. 'This city was one of the most important of Iberia. It
was inhibited by more than ½ a million people. (The Arabs must have been
astonished by its glory) And it
remained as an important centre of civilization, especially with its neat
buildings. It was not inhibited by ignorant people. It was impossible to
trick them with changing the colour of
the beard.

What about the well secured cities such as Tulaytilah or Randah. The latter
withheld the attack of the Cardoba leader, who were stronger that Tariq and
Musa combined for ½ a century. For the Arabs to take over cities by a
military trick or with
local conspiracies is an understandable matter, but for the to easily swarm
100's of cities; some of which were the most important cities in the world
is another matter!'

He keeps on asking big and deep questions. He says, 'In reality no military
campaign can go on indefinately because the more the campaign conquers and
advances the weaker it
becomes. Also when the conqueror advances and his initial bases become
unable to support him, then they must establish alternative bases. Such a
matter would take substantial
amounts of time in the 7th Century. The Arabs however, neglected this basic
strategic principle at taht point in time according to traditional history.
As soon as they would conquer a
land they would rush to conquer another. They reached Tunis then immediately
turned to Morroco; once they reached the Atlantic they sailed to Europe.
Three years later they
crossed the Tibeerini mountains and conquered the Akitania province of
France.

The Arabs did not accurately know these military targets, nor did they have
maps, nor did they know why they came or what they were trying to do in
Iberia.'

4. What happened to the millions of people who fell under the Islamic
conquests? Where they killed? There is not a single proof for this point;
rather all proofs verifies the opposite.
Were they deported? Such action is totally unnatural and has no proof. As a
matter of fact, the historical fact proves its falsehood and proves its
apposite. The question then, did these
people embrave Islam?

5. If we assume that those millions of Jews and Christians forcefully
embraced Isam then what motivated them to fight with Muslims? Even die for
the new deen?

To answer such questions and the tens of questions that might develop from
them, the reality of Islam must be understood. This is so becuase in Islam
the power lies which enabled
muslims to accomplish what others could not.

Islam is a great intellectual power that gives a tremendous energy to those
who believe in it for it is the Deen from the Creator. Allah(swt) sent
Muhammed(saw) with the message of Islam
to elevate people from the darkness of Jahiliyya to the light of Islam, from
worshipping the needy created to worship the Creator alone, from the
injustices of the man made laws to the
justice of Allah's law. It gave the way to understand the existing problems,
and gave us the way to solve them and implement them. Indeed Islam is the
Deen from the Supreme give to
mankind to organise the relationships between man and his Creator, with
himself and with others, leading to the happiness of mankind.

Islam is what enabled the Arabs to save themselves and others. Let us take
the example of Omar bin Al-Khattab. Before becoming a mulslim he was a great
enemy of Islam. Such
animosity lead one of the sahaba to say, 'If the donkey of Omar becomes a
Muslim still Omar will not' However, when Omar heard the verses of Quran,
read and understood thier
meanings and realised their miracle, he became a Muslim. He started learning
its beliefs, rules and acted accordingly. He became a different man. He used
to be a harsh man, killing girls at
birth, he became a great and merciful leader. He heard the honorable Quran
say: "When the female (infant), buried alive is questioned for what crime
did she commit..." and realised the
truth and stopped that ugly act. He heard the Messenger of Allah say, The
Imam is a caretaker, and he is questioned for his subjects.' He realised
that leadership is not an honour but a
responsibility. Thus he said, 'If a goat tripped in the road, I would be
afraid that Allah would ask me why didn't you pave the road for her O Omar.'
He heard the honorable Quran
say"Verily, vested to you as a mercy to mankind" Thus he tried his best with
the other believers, carrying the message with clear proof. If the tyrants
tried to prevent it, he fought them.
When people witnessed Islam alive, carried by the believers they rushed to
embrace it, exactly as Omar did before. And they rushed to carry it with him
as he did with the Prophet.

The answer to their puzzlement can be summarised in a few words. The success
of Muslims was due to the greatness of Islam whcih Allah revealed, all
abiding of Muslism by the Quran
and Sunnah, the blessings Allah showered on them and the great men who
carried the complete message in he way of the Prophet(saw) and his
companions.

With regard to Musa bin Nusair's meetings was it the dying of the leaders
beard that conquered the city? Was it the reason for people embracing Islam
in large numbers? That is absolute
nonsense. The reason people became muslim was the strength of the Islamic
ideas and the weakness of the ideas of kufr became apparent in the meetings
as a result of the arguments and
discussions. Once it was proven for those who were suffering under the
feudalist system and the mystery of Trinity that monotheism is the truth and
that those men carrying it were
honest aware , effective and able to defeat such internally decadent
societies they opened the gates for them and rushed to embrace Islam to
abide by its rules, to defend it. It is due to
this that the army did not need supplies from Medina. Those who embraced it
heard the saying of Allah,

"Allah has purchased of the believers their persons and wealth; for theirs
(in return) is the Garden(paradise): They fight in His cause and slay and
are slain."

So, they strived in the path of Allah with their wealth and lives. The army
did not need maps because the indigenous believers became part of the armyy,
helping it to go deeper into thier
lands. The army did not need wells throughout its way for it used what was
available with extreme caution as Islam taught them.

There is no doubt that the invitation to Islam preceeded the battles. The
Messenger of Allah (saw) sent messages to the kings and leaders of his time.
His Sunnah was followed by his
successors(Khulafah). He obliged the Sahaba to call people to Islam before
fighting them and to accept the Jizzyah (head tax) if they submit to the
authority of Islam but refused to
embrace it. The Msulims followed the Messengers order, one generation after
another. This indicates that the people knew of the greatness and justice of
Islam before it reached them .
When the Mujahids arrived they were seen by those misguided people as a
walking Islam. The true Islam. The Islam that does not transgress, practice
injustice, steals or rapes. The Islam
that helps the opressed and aids the weak. The Islam that answers the most
fundamental questions for man. The islam that implements the Islamic laws on
Muslims and non Muslims with
equality. When the people saw Islam they entered into the Deen of Allah in
large numbers.

The Muslims knew exactly what they wanted from and why they went to Spain.
Their lives were for Islam. They lived by it and carried it to mankind, and
got the Shahada in the process.
To spread the message, they conquered three fourths of the known world. All
to please Allah(swt).

O' Muslims, treat lifes problems with Islam. Implement the Shariah to treat
the ills of poverty, ignorance, injustice, spying, sex, violence, back
biting, slander ....etc... Call the people to this
cure. Call them to the aqeedah of Islam and the rules emanating from it.
Once the people start trusting Islam and its ability to solve man's problems
the Islamic State will be established. It
will carry the message, conquer the lands and save Humanity. Insha'a Allah.

Victory is near. Depend on Allah alone, study Islam, abide by it, carry it
to the people as the Messenger did, then the world will submit to it, and
Allah will grant you victory.

"And victory is provided by none but Allah"
