LAST EDITED ON 11-02-02 AT 01:03 PM (GMT)[p]Assalaamu alaikum ya muslimeen.

Greetings and good day to all.

NETCURTAINS has several times, particularly of recent, made comments that he would like to see some more of a light atmosphere and perhaps some humour around here. Well, I thought that I would share the following, hoping that it in part suffices. I received this via email, not my own composition. (cannot take the credit for something I did not write)

And...although it is talking lightly, and rather supposing of God and His eminent grace in granting us many benefits and blessings which so many of us are ignorant of, and arrogantly not thankful enough of...I pray sincerly to Allah that I not be taken to account for such supposing attitude. Surely, He has bestowed upon us all, myself included, many great and wonderful gifts...even those things which are daily taken for granted, such as sight, feeling, the ability to walk to and fro, the faculty of smell and taste, and the great gift of plenty of food and drink to spoil ourselves with, as well as generally good health, and much time...with what do we do? Alhamdulillah, Allah has blessed me greatly, and truly I am most thankful, although I myself am guilty of not realizing it enough and being thankful enough much of the time.

One more point to raise...this message is also a great lesson in learning how to ask for something. When we are vague and simple with our supplications, we cannot imagine how those supplications may be answered. We are guaranteed that Allah hears and answers all supplications...but we cannot fathom sometimes how it is they will be answered. Many times, we imagine a desired result in our minds, but the actual result of the answer to those prayers is something else indeed. This message is an example of that.

Please do read on...and do have a simple light laugh, and at the same time...do try to realize the many blessings that you yourself have been endowed with, and take some time today to think about those many blessings, and be thankful to Him who has endowed you with those blessings.

================================================== ===============One day, three men were hiking and unexpectedly came upon a large raging,
violent river. They needed to get to the other side, but had no idea of how
to do so.

The first man prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength to
cross this river." Poof! God gave him big arms and strong legs, and he was
able to swim across the river in about two hours, after almost drowning a
couple of times.

Seeing this, the second man prayed to God saying, "Please God, give me the
strength ..and the tools to cross this river." Poof! God gave him a rowboat
and he was able to row across the river in about an hour, after almost
capsizing the boat a couple of times.

The third man had seen how this worked out for the other two, so he also
prayed to God saying, "Please God, give me the strength and the tools and
the intelligence to cross this river."

And poof!

God turned him into a woman. She looked at the map, hiked upstream a couple
of hundred yards, then walked across the bridge.

SEND THIS TO A SMART WOMAN WHO NEEDS A LAUGH AND TO THE GUYS YOU THINK CAN
HANDLE IT!
