LAST EDITED ON 18-09-01 AT 08:09 AM (GMT)[p]Assalamualaikum to all my Muslim brothers and sisters,
According to prophet Muhammad (peace and blessing be upon him), going to a war as martyrs is a small jihad. However controlling our nafs is greater. As a teenager I know how it feels like to explore new things. Islam encourages us to know each other as stated in Quran, for silatur-rahmi, our own needs, preaching Islam, increasing knowledge, knowing our relatives and marriage. However bear this in mind, there are limits to mix around with people. We bring Islam and family name everywhere we go. Make sure your aurat are not revealed, especially women.
“And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils all over ‘juyubihinna’ (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms, etc.) And not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband’s father, their sons, their husband’s sons, their brothers or their brother’s sons, or their sister’s sons, or their women, or the female slaves whom their right hands posses, or old male servants who lack vigour, or small children who have no sense of shame of sex. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful.” (24:31)
As a reminder, illegal sex is strictly forbidden in Islam. Always fear of Allah’s punishment.” The women and the men guilty of illegal sexual intercourse, flog each of them with hundred stripes. Let not pity withhold you in their case, in a punishment prescribed by Allah, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a party of believers witness their punishment. (This punishment is for unmarried person guilty of the crime but if the married person commits it, the punishment is to stone them to death, according to Allah’s law).( 24:2)
I believe that young people are easily boiled up. Our prophet S.A.W said, ‘ don’t get angry’. Satan like it when we fight with each other .It is also not good in health perspective. When a person gets angry, his heart beats faster and may cause heart attack. Further more, it will push the blood in the arteries with a sudden rush, leading to high blood pressure. Turn to Allah, when u feels like scolding. Mostly when we are angry with our parents. “ And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years-give thanks to Me and to your parents,-Unto Me is the final destination.” (31:14) .Try to relax ourselves with prayers or doa’s and reading Quran. One-way to have our doa’s granted is by reciting those taught in the Quran and by the prophets. I wish I can type some of the doa’s but I don’t have Arabic fonts nor keyboard.
Theories say that music can relax one who is in stress. It is quite true but don’t let it make as careless. I suggest nasyid, as they are more on Islam. If a song could make a person do sinful doings, avoid it. Reading Quran is much better.
To carry on with our ‘ ibadah’ we have to stay healthy, as it is recommended in Islam. Performing a prayer is good for blood circulation though it won’t do much. Exersise at least thrice a week(for beginners).Half an hour aerobic can last for 48 hours. To maintain health, a complete diet must be taken. Use the food pyramid to guide you. Anyone wants me to elaborate more on healthy eating tell me.
“O mankind! Eat of that is lawful and good on the Earth, and follow not the footsteps of Satan. Verily, he is to you an open enemy.” (2:168).
Rasulullah told us to leave one third full during meal. This is to prevent from hurting our stomach or vomiting. After all wasting is Satan’s doings.
“ And those who spend of their substance to be seen of men, and believe not in Allah and the Last Day (they are the friends of Satan), and whoever takes Satan as an intimate; then what a dreadful intimate he has!” (4:38)
