View Full Version : Muslim Training Program (MTP)
Assalamu Alikom...
I did not know where I should place this post.... anyways... I thought here will be ok since its in fact us beginning to be true muslims...
I know many of us need encouragement and support and was just wondering if the muslims on this site would be interested in making our own "school" where we say for instance... whoever joins will have to read half a chapter of the Quraan per day. For a start for example... and then we'll add a new duty and by that we all practice more and do more things that might seem little but inshaAllah will help us do more of the sunnah of the prophet sallallahu alayhe wa salam.
I am enrolled in such an arabic group and just thought why not make it at IWC.
Here is a sample tip we all can do:
"Right shoe first!"
Assalamu alikom brothers and sisters...
Today's tip is very easy... but remember everything we do for the sake of Allah, trying to please him will be rewarded greatly. Remember on the day of judgement, every human being will wish they did an extra deed, be it small or big.
So what is today's tip?
Sit down when wearing or taking off your shoes, wear your right shoe first, and take it off last! Sounds easy enough? Well, Allah will reward u greatly if only u practice this for HIS SAKE ONLY!
Allah's Apostle (salallaho alaihi wasallam) said, "If you want to put on your shoes, put on the right shoe first; and if you want to take them off, take the left one first. Let the right shoe be the first to be put on and the last to be taken off." [Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 72, Number 747]
Great rewards for simple deeds!
Something like that. We all can take turns. Each tip can be given for us for x number of days to master it and then when we are ready to go on... someone will post a tip and we all can try to practice it.
it doesn't have to only be islamic it can be just a good habit for us.
whether it be reading quraan, learning a specific du'a, doing a specific sunnah or anything else... it all will be of benefit inshaAllah.
Just a suggestion... anyone interested???
Come on Muslims.... where is everyone? ok... i guess no one likes the idea.... :)
InshaAllah khair... may Allah bring us back to Islam inshaAllah. wassalamu alikom
A good idea dear sister...
People dont have the net...all the time...if you know what i mean...
My tip for today is...to live your life according to the ways of the rasul. He was not said to be the 'best' example for no reason..and we should do everything to our best need. And to follow him is a blessing, such an example...whos life, young/old/ private/ personal everything is known and every sunnah is a wisdom behind it.
Maybe next time..a problem with my typing skills now..make dua..!
Sadiq!
Another tip if i may give..before my time comes to stop...
We all will die...it is a known fact, if we forget this for one second, it will only bring our down fall...the doors will be open for shaytan to come and take us away...if you remember death..everything you do has a meaning...for you will be questioned for every look, every touch, every word.
Whether it brings you happiness or harm, whether here or the next world. Death is a good thing, when used wisely. Never forget that. And you will die, and the destination after it, is in your courtyard, you have to make the choice and death does not wait for no one...come and rush to your lord, the creator of the heavens....what is stoping you?...
Death is not rare..!
Assalaamu alaikum.
Oh, sister...I DO like the idea.
Great, really!!
Like...our own online 'halaqa' and support group.
As well, not only doing something daily for the sake of Allah, in a progressive manner, by retaining what we did yesterday, and then adding on today and tomorrow and so forth, but learning along the same time WHY we are doing this or that practice. Not only for the sake of Allah, but the underlying reason (i.e. is it sunnah of the prophet(SAAW), or command from Allah, or merely something good, yet not an innovation?).
So..all at once, we would be learning Quran, fiqh and hadith and perhaps even seerah of the rasool(SAAW) while at the same time gaining practice in doing it, and support from others as we progress, inshaAllah.
I also suggest that perhaps we include a reminder for all involved to relay to the others their experiences in doing this new deed. For example: what was their feelings, what was the reactions of others around them, if anything, and if they found any hardship or pleasure in doing this new deed.
Lulua.
Assalaamu alaikum.
Interesting and vital reminders, br. Sadiq.
In keeping in line with this, I would like to share a reminder of how to keep khushoo in salat.
I was once reading a recording of a conversation between two of the sahaba's. One was commenting to the other about his high level of khushoo in the salat, and asking him how it is that he was able to attain such a high level of khushoo even at times when there were surrounding disturbances which seemed to disturb everyone from their prayers.
The man's answer was something like this(not truly a quote, but a paraphrase):
'When I pray, from the moment that I say the 'takbirat-al-ihram', I imagine myself stanindg alone on this narrow, long bridge. So narrow, in fact, that there is hardly enough width to accomodate my two feet side by side comfortably. The I imagine the hell fire on the sides, encouraging me to remain steadfast in my stand not to sway to the right or the left. And in back of me is the devil who will catch me and pull me in the pits if I return backwards. And in front of me I envision Allah on His majestic throne, watching my every move, listening to my every word, and seeing all that I do, although I cannot actually see Him. And I proceed to perform this prayer with these mental pictures in mind, to help me to remain steadfast and sturdy in my stance in the prayer, and to help me to remain firm and steady as well as sincere. I continue with the prayer with the full knowledge and realization that this very well may be my last prayer, and so make full effort to make it the best, covering up for all my mistakes in all my previous prayers, as well as covering all facets of necessity for which I may need to make dua. And so, by the time that I complete my prayer, if I were to die that very moment, upon it's completion, or soon afterwards, I would have died on true faith and be cleansed of my sins, inshaAllah, for having performed the prayer perfectly. And then I proceed to perform the next prayer in the same method, until this becomes my own personal tradition or sunnah, in keeping safe my prayer and ensuring a sense of khushoo in my prayer.'
As I said, this was merely a paraphrase of what I have recalled of the sahaba's rendition of his method of attaining khushoo in his prayer. The main point is to truly cut yourself off from worldly things while in the prayer, and begin by concentrating on the single and most important individual and personal relationship between yourself and Allah. This time, the time of prayer, is the time when you are alone with Allah, so take the fullest advantage of it. If you were to stand in front of a king or a ruler or a respected personality of high esteem, you would present yourself in your best image to that person-in making sure that you are clean in appearance as well as smelling nice and clean, in posture and behaviour, and in attentiveness to that esteemed personality. So, when alone with Allah, who is the King of all kings, Ruler and Creator of all that is within the universe and beyond, would you present yourself with something less? Would you busy yourself with straightening your clothing? Or scratching your head or your nose? Or stuttering in your recitation? Or forgetting the simple and oft-repeated dua's? And would you pass up this chance to ask for that which you need?
These are simple questions pertaining to many common mistakes that so many are apt to make in their prayers-only a few as example.
The salat is the basis of standing for a muslim, second only to the basic and beginning and underlying belief. It is the formation of the belief into practice, and the threshhold upon which all else in our faith and practice retains itself upheld.
So if our salat is poor, then so is our building, for the foundation and the upholding pillars are weak. But if our foundation and pillars are strong and sturdy, then so will the rest of our faith be as well.
It is something that takes constant concentration, effort, and desire. And, of course, Allah's will and permission that we attain it. So, point your heart with this intention, ask Allah for the permission and guidance to do so, and then proceed with the full intent and beginning steps in conquering the human tendencies of stepping right, left, and backwards. Look forwards, and move yourself in that direction.
May Allah help us to achieve this important goal of khushoo in our prayers, and may Allah help us also to conquer all the temptations and evils lurking about.
Lulua.
:) Assalamu alikom....
Jazak Allah khairan brother Sadiq and sis Lulua.
I think we can progress inshaAllah together and like the idea sis Lulua suggested that we should write about our progress and all that.
So let me see what tips we have to practice for today:
1. Its Sunnah to wear your right shoe before your left, and to sit while doing so. Then to take ur left shoe first and to sit while doing so. Practice this.... I've done it several times... it is kinda interesting and I find it fun. Not so hard.
2. Remember death at least once a day... remember death whenever you are about to make a sin... remember death whenever you are lazy from doing something....and that should motivate you enough to do good and follow the path of Allah (if you really love Allah and want paradise)
3. Lastly, practice sis Lulua's concentration in Salah technique.
InshaAllah we all will improve with time. Let's leave it till we practice these ones for awhile.... and then we'll post more once we all are ready for more inshaAllah. :)

As-Salamu-Alaikum
I have one more tip from hadiths Muslim :-) :
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: A strong believer is better and is more lovable to Allah than a weak believer, and there is good in everyone, (but) cherish that which gives you benefit (in the Hereafter) and seek help from Allah and do not lose heart, and if anything (in the form of trouble) comes to you, don't say: If I had not done that, it would not have happened so and so, but say: Allah did that what He had ordained to do and your" if" opens the (gate) for the Satan.
I hope this inspires us in order to achieve the best.We should not regret our past and remain just like that, instead we have take it as a test to carry on with our lives.Learn from mistakes, sometimes we do not change until a terrible things happens to us.And I like to remind all that a Muslim falls in a pit once not twice or more.
Muslihah.
Ok...
New tip for today... Remember to look over the previous ones and see if you have been practicing them :)
"And we have recommended to man kindness to his parents."
Today's tip of the day is: Do something nice to your parents.
Allah says: "And your Lord decreed that you worship none but Him, and enjoins kindness to parents. When either or both of them attain with you old age, express not a breath of resentment to them and never repulse them, but say good speech to them."
So let us be good to them today and everyday.
Here are a list of things you can do today to show Allah that you do care for his commands:
1. If u don't see your parents daily, call them up today for nothing more than to talk to them and tell hem you love them and you are grateful for all they did for you. Do it for the sake of Allah.
2. Buy them a gift, send them a card, send them an email. Do something that will make them happy.
3. The best gift you can offer your parents, whether they are alive or not, is to make du'a for them. Ask Allah sincerily to always guide them to truth and show them the right path.
Peace to all

A just want to say....one tip from me;
We should remember that we will be questioned for everything;
What we looked at>
What we ate>
What we said>
What we did not say>
How we spoke>
Who we spoke too>
What we touched>
What we did not stop>
Everything and anything..
What we thought of people>
How we treated people>
What we thought>
Who we loved the most>
What we wanted more than anything>
Did we give dawah>
And other similar questions which we face daily.
Remember our aim is to please allah, as we are travellers, and as you would not see a travller staying in a hotel, start changing the wallpaper, as he has to move on...we are travllers, and we should look at everything as that. Not to stick to the duniya to much. And as travllers we should guide those who are lost or cant see the other side.
We dont need to take the tree when travelling, just the fruits that we need.
Remember we will be questioned for everything, our words, our looks, what we heard, what we did during the free time we had, every single second..!!! Either bringing us sucess or taking us away from our goal.
Let our speach, our actions, our gatherings, our eyes, our walking towards, our aims be filled with the light of the quran and the beautiful example of the rasul.
Let us be aware of everthing we do, small or big!
A long so called tip...may allah guide us, and make us find jannah and make our path to jannah easy.Ameen.

Here is another hadiths which is worth doing what's told from it:
"A person who believes in Allah and the Hereafter should speak about good things or else should keep quiet."
(Bukhari)
Muslihah
A little example i wish to convey...from a scholar;
The scholar was speaking about money and its evil, and how it blinds the human from the worship of allah, when they turn the money to life. As a wise saying is; Money is a good servant, but a bad master'. Read this beautiful and wise example;
The scholar began by saying; Were are the idols of today, the gods?
Are they made from stones? Are they sticks ? and so on.
He then said, 'Imagine if a idol worshipper came to the mosque with his gold idol, and put it in the mosque, what will you do?'
Everyone paused and though about it.
The scholar carried on ' Everyone, in the mosque will throw, kick the idol and the person who brought the idol'
What would you do, when the idol worshipper, went home and melted his gold idol and made it into gold coins and then came to the mosque?.'
Think about it...such a beautiful example. Money is the new god, many dont know, many do know, but they do worship it...with love and affection.
Let our money save us, and not make us get off the path of islam. Give sadakah, as the prophet said, sadakah does not decrease ones wealth.
