Al salam alykom
Hello everone

how are you all??
I hope everyone is fine.
I am a new member here, I find this forum is interesting and beneficial.

In fact, I want to serve this great religion as much as I could. one way of converting people to Islam and help them to know the important knowledge that they need them as muslims, is using the internet.

However, my question is: HOW CAN I CONVERT PEOPLE TO ISLAM BY USING THE INTERNET???????

I would appreciate anyone who can tell me.

thank you
:)

Assalaamu alaikum.

Welcome to this forum. I hope that you shall find it a good source of information, as well as debate and discussion.

I find it rather interesting that your main concern is 'converting people'. Nothing wrong with that, but I personally concentrate on mainly spreading the truth, and attacking the many misconceptions that ppl have of Islam and Muslims. What comes after that is merely a natural reaction based on the readers' own interest and inclination towards the truth.

I have come across several throughout my time so far on the internet, whether on this site or at others, who have been led to become muslims because of some of the help that I or others have been to them.

Again...my main objective is to spread the truth. The results of what the non-muslims do with that truth is up to them-their own personal choice. I don't set about to convert anyone, but rather to explain to them Islam in the most simple and reasonable and easy-to-understand terms.

And pray a lot-that all viewing may be able to see the truth. Including myself.

Alhamdulillah, it is very nice to know that you want to serve Allah's Deen. Jazaakallah, for your efforts. But allow to me state that your question here seems, rather, misplaced because a Muslim is not actually required to convert people to Islam at all. What is incumbent on all Muslims is to simply CONVEY the Message of Allah and His Deen to others (or mankind)!! It is beyond the power of a human being to convert others to Islam if they choose to remain heedless. The only thing a Muslim can and should do is to INVITE people to Islam with knowledge. Allah ta'aala had instructed the Prophet Mohammad (SAW) only to convey His Message to mankind and that he was sent only as clear warner just like all the previous prophets. And now the duty is an obligation on all Muslims to invite others to Islam but it is not our duty to Convert them in anyway!!

Once the invitation to Islam has been extended to anyone, then, what he/she does with that invitation is entirely upto him/her ie. whether to accept or deny that invitation. Much like inviting a person to dinner; the person may or may not come to you for dinner!! The method of inviting him/her to dinner (or Islam) could vary; you may want to go over personally, send him/her an invitation thru post or you could send him/her an e-mail thru the internet. So your question should actually be rephrased to inviting people to Islam!!

Now the best way of inviting people to Islam is by practising it fully ourselves and then setting an example for others. And how do we practice it fully? Well, we ask for the help of Allah and gain knowledge ("ilm") of Islam from the Qur'an and the Prophet's sunnah and implement it into our daily lives in every way possible. Having done that, (though, easier said than done, more often than not!) we obey the Command of Allah contained in verse 16:125 below...

"Invite (all) to the Way of thy Lord with wisdom and beautiful preaching; and argue with them in ways that are best and most gracious: for thy Lord knoweth best, who have strayed from His Path, and who receive guidance."

Thus, as we can see from the above verse, some of the pre-requisits of extending the invitation to Islam are that we be knowledgeable enough, be wise and courteous & polite and gracious in our interaction with other people and also to persevere patiently and trust in Allah. It is only Allah who bestows guidance to those who seek guidance from Him ie. those who strive to believe in Him and who Fear Him. As to others, it is the same whether we warn them or not. But we must only do our duty of conveying the Message of Islam to others and then leave the rest to Allah.

With respect to the medium of the internet, we can only use it to spread knowledge about Islam and thus, it is quite restricted and limited for da'wah as such because da'wah is best achieved thru self-practice and implementation of Islam in our daily lives. Nevertheless, it has some advantages also and there is a vast amount of information available on Islam on the net. So learn Islam and teach it to others in whatever way you can, thru the internet or by setting an example for others. And always ask Allah for help & success in your dua.

Salam to all!

SUch wonderful advice from everyone...excellent words from our Doctor!.

The only thing i will say is, action; Many people in the past became muslims just by watching thier actions. How they spoke, how they reacted, how they walked, how they smiled, how they acted with thier mothers, fathers, children, old and young and so on.

SO when we are on the internet, we should hold up the example of the rasul, as most of the sahabahs did, and by thier actions people became muslims, they just walked through cities and people became muslims, subnhallah.

When we are online, we should speak good words, we should advise wisely. By these small actions people will be exposed to islam. We have the example from the best of mankind and we have the glorious quran.

By conveying, we will be doing the job of the prophets, as there will be no prophet coming. We are the messenger of the messenger. Such a deen we have, we should tell it to others slowly. No one can paint the whole room at a single time, one wall at a time.

The only thing i will tell you is; Be wise. Dont try and tell someone too much, or dont let them have half of the picture. Let them ask questions.

A simple muslim, trying his best, make dua for those who you give advice to, whether muslims and non muslims. As one scholar said, ' Everyone has a birth certificate (date, month) but who has a death certificate?'

Think about it. Do as much as you can, a message of islam, does not need you or the people of the world, we all need islam.
