Hello all, just got a few questions, hope someone would be willing to answer.

Do reverts have to take a 'muslim' name?

Is there prescribed clothing or restricted clothing, ie ties?

Is circumcision a neccessity, and if so where would it be done?

Thanks

Chris

there is no such thing as a Muslim name. there are however names that are haram forbidden. Such names as praise idols or praise other gods would be considered haram. Or names which have a foul meaning, or indicate something which is haram.

for instance if one had the name that meant "praise jesus" than it should be changed to something which is more inline w/ Islamic teachings. Or if one has a name that means "drinker of alcohol" than it to should be changed to something more in line with Islamic teachings.

No certain clothing is neccesary, only certain areas of the body should be covered. Whatever gets the job done. This of course would disclude see through clothing which doesn't do the job. :)

Difference of opinion here when it comes to converts. Some say it is some say that it is not. it is a highly recommended thing agreed by most. It can be done in a hospital you'd have to talk to your dr. There is no formal ritual when dealing w/ converts (reverts whatever term you use)
