God and Man: Questions and Answers
>>Does God exist?
Everything that we see around us has a 'maker'. The 'maker' is usually the human being or other living species like the birds, animals and so on. For example, the table has a 'maker' - the carpenter. The lighting and the house has a 'maker' - the electrician and the builder. The bird's nest that we see nestling among the branches of a tree has a 'maker' - the birds.
Thus the trees, the birds, the fishes in the sea, the stars, the moon and the sun, and most important of all, the human being, must likewise have a Maker.
>>Who is their Maker?.......
Their Maker is God. He is the Creator, the Sustainer, the Cherisher and the Nurturer of all living things. He is Allah, the One and Only God, Lord of the worlds.
So the answer to the question posed above is, Yes, God exists. He is the Maker of man and all other living things. He is the Creator of everything in the heavens and on the earth. All Power and Authority belong to Him. It is through His Grace that man has any kind of power or authority. If any refute this, then we may ask him,
Why is it that, when the surgeon amputates an arm or a leg, no technology in the world can reproduce the original arm or leg? Without doubt we can get a replacement a plastic arm or leg. And without doubt, if a resourceful person has the presence of mind to bring the lacerated arm or leg to the hospital together with the patient, then the surgeon can re-attach the arm or leg with a chance that it might work normally.
But..... the truth is, a human being cannot reproduce an arm in its natural and original form. From this alone, any honest person will bravely admit that God exists and He is the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
Some people, especially the atheists, disregard religion altogether because they find it unacceptable to believe in a God that is 'uncreated'.
>>Does God have a 'Maker'?
This is a very important question. The atheists raise this question to disprove religion and the existence of God. They say there is no God because the concept of an uncreated being is 'unacceptable to science'. Nobody created God. He is not created. He does not have a 'maker' for the simple fact that He is the Maker of all the heavens and the earth including space and time. Space and time cannot bind Him because He created space and time. He is the Beginner of everything. And if He is the Beginner of everything, He cannot have a beginner. He has no beginning because He is the Absolute. He has no end because He is the Eternal.
Everything must have a solution in Islam. Anything and everything that does not give a solution is mustaheel (absurd) in Islam. Muslims will not believe nor will they condone a mustaheel theory. For example, if you ask an atheist, Who made you? , he answers, My father. You ask him, Who made your father? , he answers, My grandfather. You ask him, Who made your grandfather? , he answers, My great-grandfather, and so one. His answers will be relentless and endless.
There is no solution.
This theory is the at-tasalsul theory (the 'chained' theory). The at-tasalsul theory is mustaheel (absurd) in at-Tawheed because it does not give a solution. Muslims will not accept any theory of theology that gives no solution. This is because Islam teaches that a theory of theology which gives no solution is absurd (mustaheel).
Then there is the chicken and the egg theory the ad-dawr (going around in circles) theory: which came first? the chicken or the egg? Some say, The chicken, and we ask them, Where did the chicken come from then? They say, The egg, and we ask, Where did the egg come from? and they reiterate, The chicken, and this will go on endlessly.
There is no solution.
The ad-dawr theory is absurd in at-Tawheed because it gives no solution. Muslims will not accept the ad-dawr theory. As for the atheists, they will never find a solution to both the at-tasalsul and the ad-dawr theories because they persist in denying God.
Muslims have solutions to both the theories and they are content. The solution for the ad-dawr theory is that Allah, the Beginner of all things, created the first egg or the first chicken or the first chicken and egg.
The solution for the at-tasalsul theory is that Allah, the Beginner of all things, created the first man. Yes. Muslims a people who submit to the One Creator - are a people who will not rest until they have a solution in matters of theology. They are a people who will believe only in a theology that they understand.
