I have apparently struck a nerve. Some people have narrow vision and all too often it is an unhealthy one. The perfect religion will not exist until there is only one person left on the planet. Until that day we must adhere to the Ten Commandments, while allowing each individual a reasonable amount of freedom to obey them as he or she believes best. The best thing we can do is respect each others differences and be friends that lean on each other.

well.... i'm not a moderator so i guess the real question is not directed to me... but since i came her i have heard the moderators say one thing over and over again... no preaching of religions here. The main purpose of this site is for others to ask about islam only!!! So if u got a question on what does islam say about something christians believe in ... that would be fine.. but to simply start "preaching" or teaching ur religious beliefs i understand that is not acceptable....

i learned from life that when u live in a society.. u got to go by their rules or u leave the place all together!! So... I guess this is "muslim site" and thus u follow the rules they make. :)

So, Islam is THE way to go. In that case, no matter what topic I bring up it must involve Islam, right? Have you visited my site and read things thoroughly?

I didn't remove it so.... don't be angry at me please...

umm... i personally went to the site... read few lines... found it not interesting ... so i didn't read it.

I didn't say the topic must be islam... i said you must want to LEARN something... not just speak about islam. <i'm not a moderator so i have no authority by the way.. its just what i have heard being said over and over here>

The reason i removed your thread, was that you have been warned by the admin and others, not to preach, simple.!

If you want to discuss, then discuss, but preaching directly or indirectly is not allowed.

Can a reebok employer sell, there kind of shoes in a nike shop? Dont make sense.!

The rules are clear..!

Enjoy!

>Both brands of shoes are made for the same purpose.

Good point.

When I was a child a friend used to bring his football and play with a group of us. When he felt that he could not get his own way he used to go home taking the ball with him. Sometimes this site reminds me of that.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 10-04-02 AT 04:19 AM (GMT)]I did not read the topic posted by woodstock. I do not know what its content was. But if it was preaching a religion other than Islam, then it was correct to delete it.

The rules are clear. No preaching of a religion other than Islam.

If anyone doesn't like the rules, they may leave.

As Tita said in one of her posts in the Current Affairs forum:
"When in Rome, do as the Romans do".

It is my request to everyone to read the rules carefully.

Wassalam,
Asif.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 10-04-02 AT 11:07 AM (GMT)]Greetings

A person who views his beliefs as a way of life cannot help but betray what he believes in his heart. If you constitute that as preaching then you are so wrong. I have read many posts on this site and find it difficlt to accept that Islam portrays a way of life. I have read about justification for murder and I have noticed a very strong disrespect for life. I personally know many 'devout' muslims who are quite happy to smoke themselves to death without any encouragement from their 'priests' to give up the habit. I know many who use profane language without any regard for the creator viewing such use of language as an insult to him. Then when Salman Rushdie wrote a book to cause people to think for themselves and question their inborn beliefs he was threatened with death. Talk about a way of life. Sounds more like a way of certain death to me.

Vancouver....

I do not think you have a right to criticize islam right under our noses!! We have not asked anyone to like it... we don't care who likes it and who doesn't. There are issues which we say This is the way it is.... there are others which we discuss and stand on different grounds. The issues we all agree upon is what islam believes... the things which the ulema discuss (the scholars) are where different opinions come in.

If you value life so much... u can stand on the side of the scholar who said not to fight.... its ur choice... i won't hate u for it.

You do not like the idea that islam is a way of life... well what is a way of life defined as... its simply a complete guide on how to live, what to do, what to say etc... I think islam qualifies more than christianity as a matter of fact. Does christianity tell u how to eat, what to eat, how much to eat???!! What to say when u eat, what to say after you eat???

you know many "devout" muslims who are happy with smoking... smoking is forbiden in islam.... do not judge a religion by its people. Judge a religion by its scripture. Would you like me to tell you that most christians i met are lyers, racist, and rude???! Its a fact! Does this make christianity not good?? I don't think its a good reason to judge christianity... i need to judge the teachings!

"quite happy to smoke themselves to death without any encouragement from their 'priests' to give up the habit"
Wow, are you attending our Friday sermons?? If you were you'd notice every now and then a discussion on smoking. If you listened to islamic tapes u'll find tones on smoking.... if you read books u'll find info on smoking...and i mean not any book but islamic books!! Islam forbids smoking and muslims know this. If they decide to disobey the lord... its their problem not islam's!

please do respect islam more... if u do not like it... u don't have to stay here!

Dear Dee...

If praying in school means breaking the rule... I can tell you almost all muslims break the rules :)

I have an exam tonight... i'm going to be praying in the exam hall during exam time!!!! I'm not missing my prayers for an exam!!

:)

Getting back to ur post... I do not know what hostility you are talking of... most of us here i believe are very well mannered...we all need to accept criticism sometimes and obey rules so long as they are not against God's orders don't we??
For example... if the moderator says from now on we all write only 10 lines no more... i personally think if i want to stay on the site.. i either do what they say or i leave the site... the rules of ten lines is not against God's laws is it??!! If it was I wouldn't obey i'd leave the site cause i hold tight to the laws of God before man.

So the whole thread is just because some people either don't know the rules or do not want to obey them intentionally.

Religion is simply God's way of telling us how to have a relationship with him.... its a guideline to having a relationship with God.
It doesn't kill!

You are right.... you are 16 and have lots to learn... but we all too have lots to learn.... we all need to learn from each other... regardless of age... Truth is what God said... whatever is in Allah's book and whatever Prophet Mohammad sallallahu alayhe wa sallam said is the truth... these are truth!

A believer never compromises his faith.... a follower of God obeys God and never compromises any of God's set rules... he however tries his best to obey God while still having peace with the world. ;)

This is a warning to the disruptors. We will not tolerate this nonsense from any of you. We will not allow you to preach your lies and falsehood here.

Alham...., i do not want to see any further disruptive messages from you in the future. If i do, not only will i delete your messages which are disruptive, but every single message you have ever posted in this forum.

And, another person who needs some advice is Netcurtains. Dear Netcurtains, your messages are increasingly becoming disruptive, and are increasingly going against the rules of the site. I hope you discontinue posting any messages that are deemed disruptive. If you feel you cannot do that, then i will help you, by deleting any such messages.
If you persist, then it's not all that difficult to delete all the messages you ever posted.

And if the disruptors still persist with their wrong ways, then, we can escort them on their way out of this site.

By posting these messages, you have now strengthened our resolve. What you have done, may affect your fellow non Muslims on this forum, i.e. we will now be extra careful with all of them, whether or not they have been disruptive in the past.

Asif.
