I came to this site after searching the 'net' for information on Islam, for a couple of reasons. First is my son's interest in learning more about it, and second, due to the current world events. First, I would like to say I am just a Jane Doe middle age mom; I do not classify myself in any particular religion. Having been born in Canada, I am most familiar w/ Judeo/Christian tradition. Certainly not an expert or scholar by any means. My son has many Muslim friends and it has been through them that he became interested in Islam, and is reading the Quran. We discuss and compare w/ other beliefs. I am of aboriginal blood, brought up on an Indian reservation, with our own set of beliefs in the Creator, despite missionary attempts to wipe them out. I also wish to gain knowledge and understanding of Islamic beliefs and mindset and am finding the discussions here quite thought provoking and informative. I am also trying to 'see' through 'your' eyes what is and has been happening in Palestine; to walk a mile in your shoes. I can honestly say I am getting a better understanding of actions, reactions and beliefs by coming to this site, and it has prompted me to look further in my quest. For me to agree or disagree w/ any of that is for my own personal experience. I am not you. As to whether or not my son embraces Islam, that is his decision, and I will support him on whatever path he takes. Even so I feel we are enriched in the seeking...............jihsgo
