If you focus this link/subject well, then you will find out that islam says that EVERY religion on earth DOES CONTAIN something about the truth (press the link for more info). The Hindu Scripture is given as an example, but also we found out in the past that the coming of the prophet Muhammed(pbuh) was prophesied in the Torah and the Injil.

Note: I posted a long time ago an article which suits good to this subject, please take a look to this link too:

Public Health Warning On Religious Web Sites:
=============================================

Never take the word of someone from another religion
about the meanings of the religion in YOUR holy books.
For example. Jesus says "you must be born again to become
a christian" - In Greek born again means Dionysis. Jesus
most DEFINITELY DID NOT MEAN we should follow Dionysis.
If you want to study Hindu scriptures ASK A HINDU.
There is nothing wrong with a Christian commenting on the
Koran or a Muslim commenting on the Hindu scriptures but
just take it all with a pinch of salt.

End Of Warning To General Public.
==============================================

Come on you Islamic Guys TELL US HOW YOU ALL ENDED UP BEING
ISLAMIC - TELL US YOUR STORIES - We ALL want to know.
You can quote all you want from old dusty books - so can we
all - but you ALONE know your spiritual life - tell us -
Please - WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO BECOME MUSLIM?

Did you read the link I gave ? -No, just I had expected.
There are many muslim scholars who have studied the hindu scriptures and debated with hindu scholars. There is nothing wrong examining someone's scriptures. The point is that you have to be honest and not tell lies.

>a christian" - In Greek born
>again means Dionysis. Jesus
>most DEFINITELY DID NOT MEAN we
>should follow Dionysis.
>If you want to study Hindu

That's what happend here. The Hindus know this, there have been a lot of discussions about this subject with them.

I understand your doubt, but this is not a hocus pocus story. Examine the link good and you will see it.

I would tell you my spiritual story - but come on mate - tell us more. You were not just born a muslim - when you were a teenager or an adult surely you gave it some thought? some doubts? some wonders? some signs?

My parents are muslim, so I didnt choice to become a muslim. Just like the most of us here. You can better ask it to some brothers or sisters here who have converted to the Islam.

I have noticed that sister Lulua, sister Nzinga and some brothers were not muslim first. Maybe they can tell you their own story.

Of course I can tell you my own personal view at my religion. At some stage of your life, you start thinking about what the reason is why you are on earth and why you're living etc. And from that time I began to study more about my religion and looked for answers (What is my religion telling me what life is and why Im on earth ?).

As a computer science student, I do a lot of math, I like logics, and the answers I found in the Quran sound very logical for me. And this point, thus reasoning and logic stuff, was a very major thing which kept me satisfied and I had no ANY doubt about the answers I found in the Quran, after I had discovered the amazing ayat(=verses) in the Quran. The more I read the Quran, the more I start thinking and the more I understood about life.

I also read what all the critis had written about the Quran, the so-called erorrs or the contradictions in it. I examined all of them, and I didnt find them really convincing.

There were also some authors who had a lot of influence to me which made me study more about Islam, like Gary Miller and the Dutch Imam Abdul Jabbar van de Ven (who embraced the Islam when he was 14, he was also a rapper). The first article I read was about the difference between the Quran and the Bible of Gary Miller(you can find this article in one of my posts here), and the way he explains things was very close to my own view(I read all of his works so far). And later I found out that he was also a mathematician and an ex christian missionanry who had embraced the islam.

The story is something like this, I can tell yu much more, but it takes to much energy and time of me to write this all in english(Im not used to write english).

But know that I dont follow anything that sounds to dogmatic or illogical to me. That God must have a son, or that He is the son is something so funny, which I cant accept.

And the point is...that you must look for something that is the ONLY truth and do not let yourself control by your feelings when you re lookiong for the truth. Everybody must believe in something with his common sense, otherwise it wil not make any sense and you will become very fast an apostate.

This is it...maybe I will tell you more later.

(read the work of Abdul Jabber I gave in my first post, 2nd link).

LAST EDITED ON 08-02-02 AT 08:17 PM (GMT)[p]Thankyou - very interesting and a worthwhile read.
I know of a man who trained as a Catholic Priest
who now sometimes teaches in a mosque in Central
London. I know of an Iranian cleric who is now a catholic
in a church near me (of course there is the moderator of
the Athiest board - lol). We all have our PERSONAL tales
to tell which explains us.

Sometimes the boy or girl who was BORN into the religion but
thinks long and hard can be more interesting then a convert.
Don't put yourself down for being born into a religion, you still can have a fascinating tale.

I am a computer contractor - been in IT for 20 years (oracle, C++ and Java). There is a huge recession in London area at present somewhat due to the fact that Heathrow is the LARGEST international airport in the world - bit of a disaster. BA of course was the worlds largest international airline.

Oh well.

I hope you liked my Atom tale - I was thinking of doing one on Chemistry next. Yes - the periodic table. Some interesting numbers. 18 groups which of course is 666 (3 sixs). There are 7 periods - which again is a well known religious number. I think the whole thing is split into THREE groups - but I'm still trying to understand it - I'm not a chemist. I think any thinking man can clearly see that THREE has something to do with something - but what I do not know - at present. We do live in a THREE dimensional world and all (or most religions) talk of THREE places (Heaven, hell and earth). I'll use google and see what comes up. Whatever you think up at least 20 others have been there before you - a bit like the UK job market.

I liked my Trinitarian Atomic story so much I cut and pasted it off this site and sent it to my local catholic church to put in their church rag. If anyone else wants to - feel free.

Why are Hindu's so peaceful?

I find the UK crime statistics facinating. A hindu is only half as likely to go to prison as anyone else.
I know they are vegetarian - could this be it? St Paul implied that vegetarianism is best.

that sounds about right netty.

im from alaska, and i had visited nome (famous "city" in alaska, end of the iditarod... perhaps you've heard of it?) last year. i learned why nobody eats bear meat. nobody eats bear meat because bears are violent and carnivorous. my people (eskimoes, eskimo isnt a derogatory term in alaska) have witnessed that people who eat bear meat become impatient, easily tempered, and violent. so they eat the caribou. the caribou are vegetarians, and arent violent... i dont think there could be a vegetarian living the subsistence lifestyle in alaska... berries are good, but you cant live off 'em! :)

It might be interesting to note wes that in Islam, we are prohibited from eating carnivorous meat . It is forbidden.

We are allowed to eat meat of those animals like: cows, sheep, but not animals that are carnivorous.

All praise be to Allah who has given us a complete way of life :)
