08 September 2002: 336 days have passed since America launched its latest Crusade against Islam and its people. A number of Muslim prisoners were captured in this Crusade and taken to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba where they are being held in cages subject to Malaria, heatstroke and other tropical diseases. One of these prisoners is Khalid bin Hamid Al-Qarani (Abu Dujanah) from Madinah, Arabian Peninsula.
1. Three Foreign and Four Afghan Troops Killed in Khost
MEERANSHAH (AZZAM) : In an attack carried out by unknown attackers in the Eastern Afghan province of Khost, seven Coalition troops were killed and several others received serious injuries. The foreign and Afghan troops were on routine patrols few kms away from Khost when unknown attackers launched an attack with AK-47's and hand-grenades. The Coalition troops fired back at the attackers and the ensuing gunfight killed three Western troops and four Afghans. The attackers managed to flee the area after this attack.
According to latest reports, search operations in pursuit of Al-Qaida troops and their ammunition storage facilities in Khost have failed and the 700 Turkish troops participating in these operations have returned to Kabul. These troops arrived in Khost on Thursday with the latest equipment and weapons, but due to unspecified reasons, these troops were given orders to return. Self-nominated Khost governor, Badshah Khan Zardan, has already informed the Coalition commanders that Al-Qaida men are not present in this region. However, the situation in Khost continues to be tense with daily attacks against American troops in the region. Our sources indicate that former warlord, Gulbudeen Hekmatyar has enough support in Khost, Paktika and Paktia provinces, which sounds a bell of alarm for the Afghan interim government and the US and its allies.

1. Mujahideen Capture Six American Special Forces Soldiers
MEERANSHAH (AZZAM) : Mujahideen in the Eastern Afghan province of Paktia have captured six American Special Forces soldiers, together with a small number of Afghan Army troops. The soldiers were undertaking search operations for Al-Qaida and Taliban fighters, in a mountainous region of Paktia called Beermal, when they were ambushed at close-quarters by a Mujahideen patrol. Due to the complexities of the situation, the American troops decided to surrender on the spot and chose not to fight back. Later on, the Afghan troops were released by the Mujahideen but the Americans were taken to an unknown destination. Soon after this incident, American warplanes arrived and indiscriminately bombed the civilian villages in the vicinity of where the ambush took place. Our sources indicate that more American and Coalition troops have arrived in Beermal to search for their captured colleagues.
Operations to capture alive American troops have been stepped up by the Mujahideen recently, in efforts to exchange them with Mujahideen prisoners being kept in sub-human conditions in Guantanamo Bay. For this reason, several leaflets have appeared in Afghanistan, offering bounties ranging from US$50,000 to US$100,000 for live American or British troops.

1. Coalition Troop-Carrying Truck Destroyed in Devastating Explosion
KHOST (AZZAM): One troop-carrying truck carrying both American and Afghan troops was destroyed early Monday morning, by a pre-prepared anti-tank land-mine on the Gardez-Kabul highway, killing 25 soldiers. Our sources report that a convoy consisting of some 700 American and Afghan troops was travelling from Khost to Kabul, via the Gardez-Kabul highway, when one of the trucks in the convoy hit an anti-tank land-mine near Teera Kandao. The devastating explosion incinerated the truck, leaving only the axle and killing 25 American and Afghan troops on the spot. American troops immediately called in close-air support, but there were no hostile individuals in the vicinity. Further helicopters were called in to evacuate the wounded, whilst the convoy carried the dead bodies to Kabul. American 'Apache' helicopters remained with the convoy until it reached Kabul.
