How the Israeli Occupation Forces Change Happiness into Sadness and Smiles into Tears
Jihan Ahmed Asfoor is a girl from Rafah city. She got engaged a few days before Wednesday, 16 October. On that day, she went out with her father in order to buy some essential stuff for her wedding, which was supposed to be celebrated the next week. The destiny of Jihan and her father was waiting for them in Al-Qasas area near the Palestinian-Egyptian border. There, the Israeli Occupation soldiers opened fire at the citizens. Her father was shot down and died on the spot. Fifteen others were injured.
Jihan said painfully and sadly, "My father was delighted as we were wandering in the streets of Rafah city and entering the different shops and the goldsmiths' stores in order to buy some necklaces and bracelets for the wedding. He told me that he will buy me the jewelry even if it cost him more than what he could afford." Jihan's father was murdered a few minutes before getting into the taxi that was expected to get them back home safely. He was 55, a father of five sons and six daughters. The happiness of the family regarding the engagement of their daughter did not last for long as they lost their father, the father who could never now attend to see the moment his daughter got married.
Do you see now the way the Israeli Occupation Forces change happiness into sadness, and smiles into tears?
