Assalaamu alaikum ya muslimeen.
Greetings and good day to all.
Since the events of 9-11, there has been much world-wide attention and propaganda thrown in the direction of the muslim community world-wide. And much blame forced upon the muslims, regardless if those involved or behind such acts were in fact muslims.
And there is much terrorism going on in the world today. Not necessarily what the non-muslims or the westerners define as terrorism, but terrorism all the same. And, in fact, more obviously the true sense of the meaning of terrorism.
For terrorism is not only something which strikes terror into the souls of the recipient or the victims, but it also is something that takes away all freedoms, oppressing the victim into a non-defensable state. And those seeking to defend themselves or retaliate in some manner are non-sensically termed as the terrorists.
Palestine, Chechnya, and Afghanastan are only a few of those major spots of terrorism going on today. And the terrorism, my friends, is not that which is being inflicted by muslims upon others, but just the opposite-that which is being inflicted upon the muslims.
As I have mentioned time and time before, it is not a valable method to treat the symptoms of the disease-for the disease will only continue, and most likely increase in severity and length and strength. But to rid one's self of a disease, it is the most important step to first diagnose correctly the underlying problem, and then attack that cause, and the symptoms will eventually subside without further treatment. The same can be said about the alleged terroristic tactics taking place around the world today. It is necessary to do some deep soul-searching of those countries and communities affected by such attacks, and figure out the truth of the underlying cause of such attacks, and then to seek a solution to treat or cure the cause, and then it would be found that the symptoms will eventually dissappear.
If only those people affected would have the courage to diagnose for themselves, and treat themselves properly, the world would surely be greatly better off for it.
Lulua.

MEDIA ALERT

CHECHNYA
Â
After watching with mixed emotions the events unfolding in a theatre in Moscow. We could not help but wonder why the press, who where so keen to bring you every detail of the gang leaders family history, failed to mention the history of the region where they came from.
Â
Chechnya and its Muslim population has bore the brunt of Russia's repression for a lot longer than most of us know. Further still one of the carrots dangled for Russia to get onboard the Bush/Blair war on terror was a blind eye to their war on the civilians of Chechnya.
Â
To get an understanding of why this action in Russia took place we think you should read the two articles we have selected below. We are not supporting the action itself but we are in total sympathy and solidarity with the Chechens. They are a people who suffer more in a day than most of us will in our lifetime.Â

We need to ask why these Chechens use terror
We may loathe this act, but that is no excuse to misrepresent the excruciating struggles of the Chechen people

Well, at last, and for the worst of all reasons, we are buzzing about Chechnya like furious bees. In that sense, at least, those homicidal men and women who took over the theatre in Moscow achieved something.
They were callous. They imprisoned the innocent, killed three of them and terrified the rest, until the Russian authorities stormed in leaving more a hundred dead and many more injured. The media and the Russian authorities describe them as Muslim separatists, not as paramilitaries fighting for freedom from Russian occupation, which is how they see themselves. We may loathe their latest act of terror – and I do without reservation – but that is no excuse to misrepresent deliberately the excruciating struggles of the Chechen people, which, in the eyes of radicalised Muslims is just one more example of how unfair the world is to their people.

Putin is forced into human rights limelight

Repression, arrogance, stubbornness, terrorism, suicidal violence, official lies. The tragedy of the Melnikova Street theatre reminds us how dangerous the world is when people grow desperate and their oppressors show no sign of compassion.
Russia, of all nations, ought to have known this. Even without glancing sideways at the modern world, at the Middle East and the twin towers and Bali, Russia should know about the power of rage, and the rage of those who have nothing left to lose. It is a nation, after all, founded on a revolution against the careless brutalisation of the weak by the powerful centre. Of course Chechen terrorists have repeatedly proved themselves to include thugs, psychopaths, and venal blackmailers. Every cause embracing violence will always have these people among them. But that does not excuse us from looking at the cause of their rage, and the history which led men and women to strap explosives to themselves in a crowded theatre,

Regarding article 1 we think letters of support for the author are in order. For article 2 we feel that people should ask the times to discuss more on the situation in Chechnya especially regarding the Russian armies attrocities against the civilian population which includes child rape.
