FRIDAY EVENING CLASSES AT THE
HUSSAINI ISLAMIC CENTRE, STANMORE
CONDUCTED BY THE ISLAMIC COLLEGE FOR ADVANCED STUDIES (ICAS)
We are pleased to announce the launch of four (4) modules in Islamic Studies on Fridays at our Centre. The modules include:
a) Islamic Ethics: Which aims at spirituality and self-building from the Holy Quran and the teachings of our Holy Prophet (SAW) & Aimmah (AS).
Taught by: Aghae Bahmanpour MA Sociology, Tehran University & Howza Studies.
b) History of Islam: This module focuses on the lives (seerah) of Aimmah (AS), with in-depth study of the first six Imams (AS).
Taught by: Dr Abul Ghasemi PhD Education, Sydney, Australia
c) Islamic Theology: Whose principal aim it to have a closer look at the most important features of Islamic Creeds. Dr Elmi PhD Philosophy of Religion,
Birmingham University.
d) Quranic Studies: Which will enable students to examine Quranic legal text and verses pertaining to Sharia. Dr. Abadi PhD, expertise in Quranic sciences.
The first semester will run 2 modules simultaneously in Islamic Ethics and History of Islam, which will Insha Allah commence on 10th Jan 2003. Each module is designed to comprise of 15 sessions of one an hour lecture and half hour Q & A.
For the maximum benefit to the students, each class will hold no more than 25 students, who will be provided with a timetable, course plan and handouts (where necessary).
The first semester will end with exams on 16th May 2003. Successful candidates will be awarded a certificate by ICAS, London. All fees must be paid in advance on the day of enrolment.
COURSE FEES: £ 150.00/course/module/semester

NB: Should there be more than fifty (50) applicants for the above two courses, teachers from the Shia Ithna asheri Madressa and Saturday Workshop will be given first preference. As all the modules will be covered, the class allocation will be decided accordingly.
