The central court in the occupied city of Al-Quds has passed seven life sentences plus 50 years hard labor on Nasser Abu Hamid, 31, one of the founders of the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, a military wing of the Fatah Movement.

Zionist security sources said that Abu Hamid was an assistant to Fatah secretary in the West Bank Marwan al-Barguthi, who is currently detained in Zionist jails. The court found Abu Hamid guilty of killing seven "Israelis" and of planning 12 other operations in addition to another list of charges.

Zionist prosecutor said that the suspect was recruited in Fatah's military wing before reaching 20 years old and was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1990 after the court found him guilty of killing four settlers. However, he was released four years later in line with agreements signed between the Zionist entity and the Palestinian Authority, he added.

Abu Hamid was the one to declare the establishment of the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, which he led in Ramallah. The Brigades are still launching operations against Zionist targets. The Palestinian commando addressed the court saying, "Why didn't the pilot of the F-16 warplane stand trial for carrying out an assassination operation and dropping in the process on Gaza a 1000 kilogram bomb killing 18 Palestinians mostly children. And who sent that pilot ... why wasn't he also tried? That pilot's act that led to vast destruction had made scores of other Palestinians ready to sacrifice themselves (in retaliation)".

He affirmed that his acts were based on his belief in Allah and no Zionist court would ever succeed in stripping him of this belief, "We will continue the resistance until we attain our legitimate and natural rights like any other people".

Meanwhile, Zionist general security the Shabak and border guards have arrested a four-member cell affiliated with the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades in Al-Quds. The Shabak alleged that the four Jerusalemites had confessed during interrogations that they had carried out two firing incidents in occupied Al-Quds against Zionist soldiers and settlers.
