Assalamu alaikum, Ok im confused:confused: brother why are you advertising these hijabs when they are obviously not the proper islamic hijab- im mean yeah i guess they could be worn in front of other sister and/or other woman. Firstly a sister wearing this wouldnt even be recognised as a muslim, a couple of them look like normal beanies that one would wear on a cold day- and one of the reasons Allah says is to be recognised. Secondly their is a length that is prescribed by Allah, in surah al-Ahzab it mentions that it needs to cover the bosom which is the chest-these barely cover the neck. I guess if you are telling us, incase we were to play tennis, skating or doing aerobics with women only, with no men around then we could wear it as a safety guard incase a man were to walk in, then jazakhallahu khair, but otherwise:confused:

Wa Alaikum Assalaam sis,

I had no bad intention with this site nor was I trying to confess someone to buy these hijaabs and so on. It just looked funny for me (also for others I presume) that some muslims had the idea to make these kind of hidjaabs.

Maybe you wont believe, but this is what the site self claims:

==========================================
Capsters is a range of head-accessoiries that can be used for different purposes. It can be worn for different sports activities but it can also protect you against the wind or cold weather during outdoor activities.

The concept is based on the idea to give Muslim girls and their gymteachers in the Netherlands a safe alternative for the traditional hijab to wear during gym-class. The designs are realised in close co-operation with Muslim girls and an Imam.

For more background information look at: http://www.isim.nl/

We are always open to comments or suggestions, please feel free to contact us.

Wassalaam.

As you can see, the key word in their self claim is 'imam'. Not all imams are scholars and no-one has a right to make this sort of "fatwa" on hijab when Allah has said otherwise as Allah says in surah al-Ahzab "It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allah and His messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whosoever disobeys Allah and His messenger, he has indeed strayed into a plain error"

And brother Jalaal- those things are definetly funny and im not just talking about someone having the idea of making them.

Not only are these hijabs totally islamic, but they are also extremely cool...thnx for the site address. They look like they can keep you warm, and protect you from 'men's gazes', all while looking chic. Though the only this funny about them is their atrocious price range.

Is this your fatwa??? If not, prove it. How is this hijab 'totally islamic'? Im interested to find out where you get your proofs from because i get mine from Quran and sunnah, how about you???

Brother Jalaal, this is the reason why i reacted strongly to your posting this link. if you dont want someone to visit the site dont post the link, and if a site is misguided dont post the link because if ppl visit the link and get misguided (or something), THE BLAME WILL GO ON YOU!

These hijabs look like they are for a cancer patient during the winter to cover their head from being cold. I agree with Muslimah. Hijab is to cover the chest area so the men do not stare. Hamad, maybe you need to read more about your deen, and learn the respectable, and decent lengths that hijabs are supposed to be.

OK. I have a question here.
I visited the website and I really liked the Tennis Capster

http://www.capsters.com/images/tennis_1.jpg

It looks modest and practical to me. And here are some questions for the sisters who go to public schools:

1. Do you have to take gym class?
2. If so, I guess you wear wide clothes or soemthing like that.
3. Wouldn't these capters be useful to be comfortable and properly covered? Of course there is no point if you are going to wear them with tight leotards

And another question:

1. Can you do jogging or others ports?
2. If you can, aren't these capters a good option?

Sorry, but I just can't picture a lady running or biking in abaya and jilbab :o
