(Baha Boukhari, Al-Ayyam, 7/2/04).
Salaams:
The Saddam trial is a show trial, a trial of victorious, a statement of humiliation on Iraqi people. What else?
If the allies wanted to show a bit of their so-called "democratic" values they'd allowed Saddam proper counsel. He was right in asking for his basic right of having a lawyer.

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatu
I don't like that man, Saddam
for all of those nasty little things that he's done.
But his defiance to American crusaders,
should be respected and show that which is to come.

Salaams:
He got what he deserved and the company he kept. Weren't these the same people who use to arm him?
But the question is clear. We see no due process of law and complete disreguard of basic human rights in Guantanamo and elsewhere the thousands of Muslims are kept imprisoned, faceless, nameless, simply kidnapped and kept without any rights.
Saddam at least appeared in a kangaroo court!
