wa-alaikum as-salaam Sr and assalamu-alaikum all:
Alhamdulillah I'm back from Hajj. I arrived today in Lisbon at 12:25 after over 24 hours of travel as we passed through Cairo.
Masha-Allah everything went all. We only perform Hajj with Allah's permission. Alhamdulilllah I have had the chance to fufill this pillar of Islam. May Allah accept my and every Hujjaj's Hajj.
We go through a number of tests and hardship. That's the beauty of Hajj, so that we may end up in cleaning our sins and start anew as better human beings.
Ma'a-salaama

Assalaamu alaikum.
Alhamdulillah a thousand times over, dear brother...for the opportunity for u and ur family to perform haj, as well as your safety in your travels and returning in good health and spirits to your loved ones again. Including to us here at the forums. (for whether or not you may have realized it, we consider ourselves amongst your loved ones as well).
Just so sorry that we did not have the chance to meet our families together in your travels. But I know that ur schedules were tight, as is common with anyone traveling such for the haj.
It is good to have u back here amongst us again.
And may you be among the fortunate whom Allah has blessed with an accepted haj, and beginning your life with a clean slate now as a new-born babe is clean.
Om Mohammed.
Wa-alaikum-as-salaam to all:
Indeed we are part of great brotherhood that Ummah constitutes. Many shukran to all brothers and sisters that are welcoming me back. I am trying to write down my Hajj experience and post it here. It'll be positive in nature and not critical of some negative aspects like I humbly believe to be the lack of respect of Hujjaj by the authorities guardians of the 2 Holy Cities, but this latter is secondary and I'll address them directly to the authorities and make them accountable on akhirah.
Hajj is indeed great experience for us personally and I have gained a lot from it. What a wonderful pillar of Islam! It's unique in its nature and compulsory only on those that can afford it. A great personal training and cleansing of souls. Allah's responses at the Makkah and Madinah are almost immediate. I experienced true working miracles. I recommend the young members of this discussion board to make their objective to go to Hajj whilst they are young. Older age does make Hajj difficult, and if you want to change your destiny and find the amazing bouquet that constitues Islam do perform Hajj while you are young!

Assalaamu alaikum.
Terribly great to have u back, dear bro...and even greater to realize your duty of the haj.
I am sorry to hear that you had some bad experiences...but that is only expected in many circumstances. I believe it is part of life, that we must take the bad with the good.
Now...as I myself live in Saudi, and I have easy contact with those closely involved with helping the hajjis, if you would like, forward to me your complaints, and I will see to it that it reaches those most apt and able to envision a change.
Many times it is such that those who offend us on our ways do so without truly realizing it, or with an air that they themselves do not understand such behaviour is offensive.
And so, we can only realize the changes we ourselves deem necessary when we raise our complaints.
I have noticed many times also that those in positions of helping the visitors to the two holy mosques have been less than helpful...but with some reminders, we can all make a change for the better, inshaAllah.
Om Mohammed.
Wa-alaikum-as-salaam dear Sr:
It was really nice talking to you while in Madinah. Unfortunately we couldn't meet as the schedule was very tight and we were in a group. Insha-Allah we'll meet in future. Also while in Jeddah we were so busy with our return to Portugal that I just forgot to phone you again.
I'll do as you proposed by you. I'll send you the letter so that you can forward to appropriate persons responsible for running the Hajj. What I think is most importante is to have fiscality, people in responsibility to check around if things are going well. They ought to check without forewarning. One of the reasons lots of people got ill at Mina was that thrash wasn't removed during 5 days. This ought not happen. Our bus driver from Madinah to Jeddah hadn't slept for 2 days. That's dangerous and could have caused unforeseen harm to our group had I not been awoke and seen him dozing off while driving. This is an example of lack of fiscality.
I realise Hajj isn't easy to run and given so many people from all over the World and with different background and behaviour it isn't an easy task. But there are failings on the organisation side and they have to be rectified for the sake of safety of Hujjaj. On the whole the work carried out by the Hajj Ministry is positive though the task is so daunting.
Ma'a-salaama,
Om_Mohammed

Assalaamu alaikum.
No need to apologize for not calling again, dear brother. I was thrilled to have ur call from Madinah.
And I know of the busy schedules for the incoming hajis, and particular if traveling in large group.
It was not meant for us to meet at this time. If it were, then it would have been made easier for us to do so.
The main point is that you were able to perform the haj, and that you were blessed for u and ur family to return safely to ur loved ones.
Alhamdulillah.
May Allah accept and reward all of u greatly.
As for the problems u incurred at the haj, these are common problems for many of the ppl...whether coming in from abroad or local pilgrims as well. And it is something that is being addressed...yet difficult to remedy due to the large vastness of the crowds, as you have seen.
But please do put it in writing, explaining in full the problems encountered, and I will start the ball rolling here to help those in positions of authority realize what really goes on at the haj.
May Allah help us all to do better for His cause.
Om Mohammed.
