View Full Version : The neighbour and the donkey
A neighbour who Nasruddin didn't like very much came over to his compound one day. The neighbour asked Nasruddin if he could borrow his donkey. Nasruddin not wanting to lend his donkey to the neighbour he didn't like told him, "I would love to loan you my donkey but only yesterday my brother came from the next town to use it to carry his wheat to the mill to be grounded. The donkey sadly is not here."
The neighbour was disappointed. But he thanked Nasruddin and began to walk away.
Just as he got a few steps away, Mullah Nasruddin's donkey, which was in the back of his compound all the time, let out a big bray.
The neighbour turned to Nasruddin and said, "Mullah Sahib, I thought you told me that your donkey was not here.
Mullah Nasruddin turned to the neighbour and said, "My friend, who are you going to believe? Me or the donkey?

Assalamoalykum brother
he he he... :D its one of my favourite jokes too. as i used to read his jokes when i was growing up.
here is another one of my favourit that i still remember after all these years... :)
once mulla nasrudin bought some cookies and put them on the table and went away to do something.
his wife came and found the cookies ,she tried one, she loved it and tried another one.
b4 she could know she had finished them all.
then came mulla nasrudin and inquired about the cookies. the wife guilty of eating them all, tried to escape by lying about them and said that their pet parrot ate them.
mulla said ok lets get to the bottom of it. he asked his wife to bring a scale.
he said the cookies he brought were one pound in weight. so he weighed the parrot. and it was exactly one pound!
to which he said,
if this is the cookies then where is the parrot......and if this is the parrot then where are the cookies....:) :)
to which his wife had to tell the truth as she got the " check mate " challange....:)
Moral:
of course mulla nasrudin knew all along that his wife has eaten the cookies so he wasnt worried about them, but what he didnt like was his wife not telling the truth.

Assalamualaikum dear sis lubna,
In my case, I am always the guilty one. I just cannot resist my dear wife's cooking. When comes the month of Ramadhan, she outdoes herself. All these years, no matter whether I have to have business or social dinner outside, I will always have something at home when I return and she will always have something kept for me. May Allah bless her always.
waalykum assalam dear bro tbahrain
may Allah bless you and your family, and keep the bond of mutual love and respect between you and your wife a strong one Ameen.
and keep all harms and fitnahs away from you and your family Ameen.
