my man L from the UK told me about this site and i was considerin convertin to Islam so i registered.i'll start off by explainin my name.Salaam i believe means peach and i'm slavic so it shouldn't be to hard to guess why i chose that name and the X is because no one in my family knows our last name since it got changed when my father and his parents imigrated to the United States.i'm not officially Muslim though i think it is a beautiful thing and would like to learn more about it.my mother hates all Muslims which i never agreed with so i'm a little scared to convert because she might disown me.i respect the majority of Muslims however and like i said i'd really like to learn more about Islam and i want to be Muslim myself.

thank you.i don't think going through the rules would be neccessary because i wouldn't think of saying anything unneccessary or insulting..but if you'd prefer i read them anyway i will.thank you for welcoming me.if i have any questions about Islam, would you mind my asking you?i would appreciate any answers or guidance you could give.

i read and understand the rules and will try my best not to violate any of them though i can't gurantee anything because i don't know what the future holds but i'm almost 100% sure i won't violate the rules.

Hi X,
Hello to you.

John

we are a people from many nations but mainly southeastern europe and western asia.i heard somewhere slavs were the original slaves...which would explain the name but i haven't been able to verify it and honestly i'm not eager to try.to give you a better idea of who slavs are i'll list some countries we inhabit starting with the nation i descended from:bulgaria, russia, yugoslavia, czechoslavakia, etc .

sorry brother for my mistake and confusion. your name is a male name alright, but when you said you have a man, i thought you must be a woman...:), logically. and since you are new to islam you can easily choose a wrong name.
as 'my man' refers to husband. doesn't it?
unless of course there is something else i have overlooked.

as for asking questions, brother you can ask any question from all of us here , whoever will know the answer will reply to you with best of his/her ability inshaAllah. we are all learning from eachother here Alhumdulillah,so you can join the class too...:)
we muslims believe in enjoining the good and forbidding the evil, you can do it too inshaAllah.

may Allah guide us all to the truth Ameen.

oh...i didn't even think about that.i meant my friend.i take no offence to your quoted reply though just so everyone is clear i am not homosexual.sorry for any confusion my first post may have caused.thank you for accepting to answer any questions i have.you all seem like nice people.if most Muslims are like this i'm happy i chose Islam as my religion...it's weird but it's like Islam called to me to become Muslim.i am a former atheist and my parents wanted me to be Christian, but it never felt right and i couldn't accept God how they wanted me to.but Islam feels comfortable and even empowering.i hope i can still reach my friend Mohammedso i can officially be Muslim....though my family would hate me for it...i guess it must just be Allah's will.

Assalaamu alaikum.

Welcome to our community here, salaamX. I am sure that you will find your stay with us enlightening, as well as supportive when you may need it.

Sorry for my late welcome...i've been out for a while, and it's taking me some time as well as effort to get back into the practice of the discussions.

Anyways, always nice to have some new 'faces' round here.

Please do have a look at the discussions on the various forums, and ask your own questions, or jump into any of the topics already listed and add your own thoughts on them.

Looking forward to more dialogue.

I'm a 'convert' to islam myself, so perhaps if you have some questions along that respect, I could shed some light on some ideas or points for u, if u have questions.

Om Mohammed.

Hello, I am not of your faith but I had a couple of questions that I am hoping someone can answer.

How can one tell a honest board and not one that is filled with fanatics?

Is there not some type of marriage contract that is filled out before a couple is marries? Can any one explain the contract to me?

Hello jakari,

Welcome to myiwc.com.

I don't know what you consider to be fanatics. Do you mean fundamentalists, salafis, jihadists whatever? Well these words don't give me any meaning and perhasp to many Muslims that know their faith. Islam's message is only one, and you cannot be a either a moderate Muslim or radical one.

I hope I have explained myself. Anyhow this isn't the adequate forum for this kind of debate. Perhaps you could get the answer in another forum of this space.

w3s wa rehmatullah wa barakatuhu dear brother

Ahlan wa sahlan marhaba!
an urdu verse just popped in my head fit for this moment,

bari dayer ki mehraban aatay aatay!
meaning... you took so long to come O,kind one!

yes you are one of my early contacts in the cyber world of dawah and i am thankful to Allah 1st and then to you for lots of inspiring thoughts in my quest of finding the truth. we agreed on most of the things in our disscussions and have a similarity of thinking on most issues apart from one or two.... dont know after few years of your scilence(hybernation...:)), where do we stand now in comparison to eachother.....:)

and if it was not for you i would not have known bro macmuslim either. so you deserve another point...:)

and now for your question about text talk, i am doing it write now. and hence according to my knowledge it is ok to do it. as for the girls and boys sending fishy stuff as texts on the mobiles to eachother , there is no doubt it is haram. be it mobile phone or the email. and my guidance comes from the ayah of the Quraan where Allah tells us, do not talk softly to the men incase the people with disease in their hearts attatch false hopes with you.

disscussing islam and current affairs in the text from with sincere intention of learing or spreading the truth is what we need these days anyway, as a quick way of communication i.e dawah in islamic term.

may Allah guide us all to the truth, give victory to the muslims and make islam prevail tha lands Ameen.

Ma'assalama
your sister
