Volunteer With Us

s3

We welcome people from around the world donating their skills and talents and volunteering with us at the Palestine Monitor. It is also a fantastic way to gain first-hand experience on the ground in Palestine and learn how a small non-profit NGO functions.

If you would like to volunteer with us, please first familiarize yourself with the layout, content, and purpose of our website. Then send us an email that includes:

Your name

An updated CV

Where you are from

What kind of projects you are interested in working on (e.g. photography, feature writing, traveling and writing eyewitness pieces, office work, etc.)

When you are planning to come

How long you are planning to stay

What particular knowledge, talents, and skills you can bring to us

Any special needs you might have

We appreciate volunteers very much, and the above information is critical if we wish to place volunteers without delay or difficulty. We are a small but hardworking staff, and the amount of emails and other information we process is enormous; if you don’t hear from us right away, please try to email us again.

We are often able to provide our volunteers with free housing if space permits. Sometimes we can provide you with your own room, other times a mattress on the floor. The apartment includes full kitchen, bath, and satellite TV.

Living in Ramallah, with its friendly people, beautiful cafes, and sweeping views, is an unforgettable experience. Traveling around the West Bank is also convenient and inexpensive (checkpoints permitting), and we have contacts in many towns and cities. If you want to drink coffee in Nablus’ historic Old City, climb on Crusader ruins with views all the way to the sea, harvest olives in a hilltop village, interview a political leader, take a Turkish bath, or visit the famous beer factory in the stunning white stone Christian village of Taybeh, all that and more can be arranged.

Email palmon@hdip.com with your questions and comments.

We look forward to welcoming you to Palestine!
