View Full Version : An apology from Pope is Meaningless
Calls for Pope's Apology are Meaningless and Irrelevant

Pope Benedict XVI proved himself to be another George Bush on the religious front of a war to sustain the existing unjust world order. As he spoke his mind more clearly, both Muslims and non-Muslims are demanding his “a deep and persuasive apology.”[1] The question, however is: Would Pope’s apology mean he has changed his belief that the teachings of Prophet Mohammed are “evil and inhuman”?
The answer to this question lies in deep analysis of what is going on both on the religious and political fronts in the West to preserve the status quo of a global, imperial order—a rule of law which the former colonial powers have established to perpetuate de facto colonization of the weak nations. At present, if anything can pose a real challenge to this order, it is Islam. Hence Islam and its followers become enemies by default.
Muslims and Islam are presented as evil because the concept of "evil" contains ambiguities and evokes fear. By employing the term "evil," Western political and religious leaders generate fear of Muslims and Islam to manipulate people's attitudes and behaviors. Associating Islamic sources, Prophet Mohammed and Muslims with evil is especially powerful for summoning support for violent or militaristic action.
When the events of September 11 unfolded, many people were deliberately forced to feel that they were witnessing evil. With statements upon statements, people were made to feel angry, fearful and sad. Without presenting any concrete evidence thus far, people have been bombarded with messages that there were evil Muslims who were responsible, and if we could just find them and kill them, the world would be safe again and life could return to normal.
The rhetoric of Bush and Blair's speeches and news conferences shows the construction of the kind of ideology of good versus evil that is meant to justify a violent, militaristic re*sponse. Furthermore, together with the corporate media and religious sector, they employ clever rhetorical strategies that play on both public wishful thinking and fears in order to per*suade by emotion rather than logic.

s3,
One thing I can say of this pope: he's at least honest and not an hypocrite like some other religious and political leaders. He's keeping his word in not apologisiing and being true to his word.
I wish other leaders would not be devious and would say the truth, the bigotry that goes in their hearts and their true Crusader spirit towards Islam. If we look at the onslaught on Islam, including a very old 50 years old occupation of Palestine, and most recent occupations by christian armies of two Muslim nations Afghanistan and Iraq, this pope has expressed what they discuss in private and they think of Islam, which has not evolved since the old dark-age Crusaders.
The Catholic chruch that's known for its progroms and millions of killed in name of their interpretation of their religion, is trying to tell us that our prohet (pbuh) spread our religion through the sword. Do you ever throw stones at others if your rooftop is made of glass?
Ma'a-salaama,
s3 dear brother
i dont know whether he is honest or arrogant. he would not have uttered those words in the 1st place if he was not arrogant.
as for the stones and glass roof, here is another good saying that i read recently,
A wise man doesn't play leap-frog with a unicorn!....:)
and we all know muslims are proving to be unicorns as is the recent case of hizbollah Alhumdulillah.
may Allah destroy the enemy of islam and muslims real bad and real soon Ameen.

This is the blog of someone outside Westminster Cathedral.
There are children and young families going to Mass.
He has the photo's and told the police.
50 to 100 masked people holding leaflets about dying and killing
and shouting abuse at children going to Mass.
If I was the pope I would apologise, children should not be
scared to go to Mass.

I am not against free speach and people demostrating however I do
draw the line at masked people shouting out death threats in front
of children.
I hope the 50 to 100 masked people, after they have had time to
reflect, will apologise for the fear that they have generated in
people around Westminster Cathedral. I'm sure what they say is their
heart felt belief, but there is a time and a place for this type
of demostration. Perhaps a university campus (as the Pope's speech) or
other adult meeting place

Pakistan's Foreign Ministry also called the pope's remarks "regrettable."
"Anyone who describes Islam as a religion as intolerant encourages violence," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said.
Doesn't the violence (nun shot in the back in Somalia, churches burned, etc) prove the "intolerance" and "convert or kill by the sword" references quoted by the pope?
I question and "insult" Christianity daily and no one has called (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=405622&in_page_id=1770) for my death. We discuss our differences, perhaps not coming to an understanding, but there's no violence involved simply because of words spoken, or written.
Dear wildlifer,
A murder is a murder. Islam doesn't allow killing of innocent people. I am really upset and I hope the killer is caught.

Part of the Islamic world demonstrate against the announcement of Pope, part of them by violence but there where both religions are living as everydaylife in the same country during the centuries:

A Palestinian militant from Islamic Jihad stands as protection in front of the Deir Al Lateen Roman Catholic church in the northern West Bank village of Al-Zababedah near Jenin town, Sunday, Sept. 17, 2006. Members of the militant Islamic group in the village claimed that they would prevent anyone from vandalising Christian sites in the area. Two West Bank churches were set afire early Sunday as a wave of Muslim anger over comments by Pope Benedict XVI construed as anti-Islam grew throughout the Palestinian areas.(AP Photo/Mohammed Ballas)
s3 sr,
Jazaka-Allah for this photo. Of course the enemies of Islam won't show this photo. But at least we have the Internet and we can divulge it.
About Somalia, I heard there are warlords with other agenda and financed by USA. May be they assassinated the nun. It won't be the first time. We saw that happening in South America also with nuns (these lovely women that sacrifice their lives many times for sake of humanity) when the CIA was carrying dirty war against leftist governments.
A dejavu I'd say. Somalia may be the dejavu of South America! The same tried strategies to denigrate Islam.

Ma'a-salaama,
I'm sure you're right. The CIA had her assassinated to make Islam look bad. They're probably working right now to kill the Pope.

Ma'a-salaama,
It's like whenever the kufar say something derogatory against Muslims we modify ourselves to match their prejudices. My point is that even if it was a Muslim responsible for this event, a misguided foolish brother, it's Muslims that are solving it and stopping things like these before they happen.
In Somalia, after years of tribal rule we finally have the UIC taking control of things and putting the problems on their own shoulders. No doubt, if the culprit is caught and convicted, he would be executed in accordance with Shariah just like the man who shot a buisnessman was recently. In contrast the slap on the wrist attitude of the West like in Vietnam or even in the current troubles in Iraq and Afghanistan, Shariah-based organizations are actually metting out equitable punishments. Once again we see the example of UIC ("islamofacists") and how they met out punishments to the misguided Muslims who carried out the cenima-shootings.
And in any case, even if this was a Muslim, his actions wouldn't represent Islam except maybe in the twisted mentallity's of people like our own Wildlifer since they aren't done in accordance with Islamic principles, even in Jihad women are usually spared, even when they've been fighting (like Abu Dujjana (ra) when he was fighting a woman with the prophet's(saw) sword). Furthermore, this lady was unarmed and had said nothing, to my knowledge, in terms of accepting this pope's words.
On the other hand, the actions of his punishers would represent Islam so long as they're carried out properlly. But since the Nun died forgiving the murderer, he probably shouldn't be executed. And I don't know what sort of people would look at justice and think "this must be some more Muhammaden evils".
To end my rant, I find it odd how people use these rare examples, like a single angry Muslim, to describe the entirity of the 1.5 billion population of Muslims. It's not like we take one American bank-robber and label all of the West as his duplicates. Judging a group according to it's majority is reasonable, but this sort of mentallity whereby an entire group becomes "evil" by the actions of a few members is ridiculous.

To take the actions of a few in the west, and paint all in the west as guilty is SOP here.
I've come to the determination through my interactions here, it is the likes of the guy who shot the nun, the guy who called for the murder of the Pope, and the masses of Muslims who believe their superstition is above reproach or negative comment under the penalty of death and/or censorship, who are the ones who represent "true" Islam - everyone else is apostate.
As my postings are probably nearing their end let me say:
You all should be proud. You've taken a believer that at the core, Islam was a religion of peace and Muslims were capable of logical and reasonable discourse, and a doubter of Bush's mantra that Islam is anti-freedom and bent on the destruction of the west, and made a believer in that mantra.
You're a fine bunch of ambassadors for Islam.
