Hello to all,

I was curious if forum members had any favorites in the field of candidates currently lining up for the American Presidential elections of 2008 as well as a quick word on why they liked someone.

Thank you,

Isaac

Dear linden,

Actually personally I have no preferences.

In American presidential election where every vote doesn't count and there is a dictatorship of two parties, I believe there will never be any candidate that can steer this powerful nation into a peace maker and more responsible world role.

The military-industrial complex and zionist lobbies have hijacked American democracy. I am quite pessimistic and feel no peace-loving and wise candidate stands a chance.

Thank you Tayeb for your response. Do you have any thoughts on what an American should do with his or her opportunity to vote in these elections?

Dear Linden,

Should the rest of the world have a preference of who should head the US? Since this question is asked from a Muslim web community, to be explicit, should the Muslim world have a preference? Does it matter who should be the next president? Whoever becomes the next president the killing of Muslims and the plunder and destruction of the Muslim world would continue unabated. The question would be who would do a better job?

Thank you Tbahrain for your response.

I understand then that you believe it to be inconsequential what I do with my vote, or even whether I exercise it. Is this your opinion as an individual or do believe it to be a shared consensus of the Muslim community?

Dear linden,

In America the highest office that of the president is chosen by an outdated system of election of centuries ago when most of population was illiterate. There's no "one man one vote". In fact the president is chosen by the states that field highest number of delegates for the electoral system.

The candidates will come for one of the two parties that dominate the political system, the democrats and the republicans. Anyone who is chosen from these parties will need to make compromises with powerful pressure groups, one of them is the zionist lobby.

For the zionist lobby what counts is the defence of Israel, no matter how costly may this be for American interests. So whoever will be able to be elected will have made concessions to this powerful lobby, the zionist lobby. The president of America will be more pro-Israeli than israeli themselves. He/she will be subservient to Olmert or whoever is the PM in Israel.

So as br tbahrain says at the end "whoever becomes the next president the killing of Muslims and the plunder and destruction of the Muslim world would continue unabated. The question would be who would do a better job?"

With the election of a new president in USA there will be no peace, and hence we will all suffer in this small planet. Sorry I am pessimistic! I beleive most of Muslims are pessimistic too. It's a matter of choosing between the pan and the fire. You'll be burnt at the end more slowly or more quickly.

Dear Isaac,

I suggest you watch this video about AIPAC, christian-zionists and neocons:

Thank you Tayeb,

I appreciate your elucidations on the United States electoral system, although I was already familiar with it and criticisms of it. Nevertheless, I was hoping to at least strive for a morally acceptable action with regard to my vote, no matter how impotent that action may be, as none of us should give up on pursuing the good simply because the act appears insignificant in the face of the overwhelming tide of ethical anemia that afflicts the world. It had hoped to gain a more thorough perspective in this regard by receiving the advice of forum members here. Thank you again for your time.
