The so-called Lal Masjid operation is officially over but it leaves the military regime and Pakistan in a major security, political, moral and religious crisis. Based on the available information, we can clearly see as to what really happened. Following are the bare minimum facts that can be accommodated in a short article. It is not difficult to dig the associated facts and prepare a legal case against the culprits of this bloody adventure.

The pro-regime analysts claim that all the damning information that exposes the regime is fantastic and damning allegations, facts mixed with fantasy to create dramatic PR affects. They want to make the public believe that the following are mere perceptions and have nothing to do with the reality:

That there are over 1000 casualties of students, mostly women and children and the government have removed the bodies for secret burials.
There were no weapons in the complex and the governments have planted them after the operation.
There were no terrorists or foreign fighters inside the complex and the government is only using this excuse to build its cases.
The operation has been carried out on the orders of US by General Musharraf to please West to seek a re-election for next five years.
As far the number of casualties are concerned, there

The people of Pakistan missed an opportune moment when at the height of the preparation for the assault on Masjid Lal there were thousands of troops and members of the public congregating in Islamabad. They should have turned around and headed straight to Musharaf's palace.

....The terrorists kidnapped children?
You mean like Beslan, were the Islamists
killed 200 children?
Who are these people?

How many of the Mullahs in the UK were taught there?
This is really very scary news.

Why do they want to kill children or hide behind children.
Its revolting, cowardly and beyond human understanding.

Yes, pity those children. Though now they will get about USD 1m each but nothing will erase their agonizing memories at the hands of those so-called vicars of God. Worse still the cover-up and the inactions of those in power. Well, now they are USD 650m poorer.

....Indeed its horrible.

let us hope the other religions start to confess their sins and try
to pay compensation to their victims too. I still get the impression
from this board that islam is all too willing to brush its problems
under the carpet or blame someone else. The day Islam starts
to pay compensation (like Catholics) the safer children and adults
will be - right round the world. Lets not forget the people at the
heart of this seige were meant to be clergy!!!!

I rest my case.

Dear John,

None of the parents of the children and women that got killed has said they were held in the Mosque against their will. We have many more Beslan's caused by the Russian army, with over 100,000 chechen killed so far.

For one thing if Muslim children were abused the ulamas tehy would not be protected by a Caliph. Probably and most likely would get death penalty.

It seems that in LA Vicary's case the clergy were protected and even the actual Pope when he was in a position of responsibility did not care. It seems his visit to USA won't be welcomed.

Tayeb,
I totally agree with you.

It is my position that human nature is universal.
If this type of behaviour does not appear to happen in Muslim
mosques its because people are not looking hard enough.
What was the sexual orientation of arafat? I don't care
but others might pretend or hide the truth. I don't
care. My point is people need to come clean.
Those kids were targetted by Beslam Islamists....
It was not random chance they went to a school.
It was not random chance that loads of young kids
were not allowed out of that Pakistan Mosque. They
were being used as human shields by Islamists.

What I find hard to stomach, is that I can agree with you
about the Catholic church and you cannot agree with me
about Islam. This, IMHO, means Islam is 40 years behind
the Catholic Church (as the majority of the sex abuse actually
took place in the 1960s and 70s). you still want to blame
others or deny it happens.

...Although I am aware that Indian culture is different to UK.
In IT, the area I know a bit about, its appears rare for an Indian
IT developer or consultant to say "I don't understand"...
They tend to say "yes, I understand, no problem" even when,
in my Croydon understanding of the situation, they actually do not
understand.

So this cultural practice can lead to one or two misunderstandings
So I apologise if I sound different to someone with a different
cultural way of life to my own.

The Catholic church aided and abetted in the abuse of children. And worst of all it just didn't care when these abuses were reported. Does my post of news on the large settlement hurt you? The same Church that ought to protect children and defenseless, protected the priests that abused them. 5,000 priests & religious people are accused of molesting children in USA.

It's shameful.

Its horrible.

But universal. If you care to do some statistical analysis,
the percentage of priest abusers is the exact same percentage
as the normal (western?) population.
OR
put it another way,
you are far more likely to be abused by your mother, brother, sister
or a father than a priest but should we abolish mothers and fathers
because of abuse it causes?

Of course not.

The cure is, as always, is good regulations and procedures, and a FREE
PRESS willing to INVESTIGATE the TRUTH. When the Press investigate
islam you call them all liars... Doesn't that worry you?

Well I respect your minimisation of the whole affair of priest abusers. I rest the case.
