assalamalaikum, welcome to the forum brother, one of my favorite things about this forum is its diversity of locations from which there are members, along with the manner in which it is regulated to keep things orderly, informative, and to the point, as oppose to a bunch of offensive rantings and rude content as you find on other boards!
Hope it is not too hot in malaysia! (although I know for a fact it is. lol)

'Selamat Datang',

tbahrain.

so this is the welcome in malaysian language. the 1st word seems like salama in arabic which means peace. is that so...

how do you say, ''how are you'' ? in your language bro tbahrain.

The official Malaysian language is the Malay language.

Literally, the word selamat datang translates as safe coming. Not being a linguist, I assume the root word is salam/peace. Thus it would mean come in peace.

How are you would be 'apa khabar' literally apa=what khabar=news. The response would, as in I'm fine, be among Muslims, Alhamdulillah, saya sihat (Alhamdulillah, I'm well/fine). Or just Alhamdulillah, sihat.

Bear in mind that the constitution defines a Malay as one professing Islam.
