Hekmatyar Says Jihad Against America Will Not End Till Liberation

Gulbadin Hekmatyar, the Afghan warlord and most wanted Muslim guerrilla leader after Osama bin Laden Tuesday announced that jihad against America would continue till freedom. In a fax message written in Pushto language received at the NNI office here on Tuesday, the former Afghan prime minister vehemently rejected reports of his patch-up with Karzai government.
He said that a people-friendly Islamic government can only be established in Afghanistan unless the country is liberated from the clutches of foreign powers.
He said that rumours have been rife in Afghan and Pakistan press about Hizb-e-Islami's point of view regarding Karzai government "but I personally assure my people that the Hizb-e-Islami would side with the Muslims of Afghanistan like it did in the past. We will not leave them in lurch at any cost."
He said that the war in defence of Islam would continue till achievement of the goal. "We will kick out armies of fasaad (anarchy) from our homeland, come what may."
He urged upon the people of Afghanistan never to think that the Hizb-e-Islami will join the enemy forces or the friends of the enemy. "We will never abandon jihad for complete independence of our country."
He said, "We don't accept and recognize the law in Afghanistan on the enemy terms, nor would we become the part of the government of those who establish their existence on others' crutches. We will never compromise on a government other than legitimately and constitutionally elected."
Hekmatyar made it clear that only those are his friends who will come out in his unending fight against Americans as they joined hands with the mujahideen in their jihad against former Soviet Union. "Those who consider jihad as obligatory as performing prayers five time a day are our true friends."
He said, "Unless foreign troops leave Afghanistan and a people's government is established in Kabul, no other way but jihad would be the only tool to use against the infidels."
It is to be mentioned here that a Hizb-e-Islami leader, Qutbuddin Bilal some days ago met President Hamid Karzai government official in Kabul and held talks with them on reconciliation. He had announced after the talks that the HIA is nearing patch-up with Karzai administration.
